It’s prob because the artist draws the ML as SUPER pale and shades their characters in blacks and grays so it give off the appearance of the skin looking grayish.

Taeui wants to go back to ilay, but ilay is entaged cause he thought taeui wants to leave him again and puts his gloves in taeuis mouth so he can't even tell ilay he wanted to go back to him and then ilay takes his anger, angst, disappointment and frustration out on taeui with (kinda) non consensual actions
But they work it out afterwords cause taeui knows why ilay is acting this way and knows there is no one out there as crazy as him (taeui) who would ever willingly go back to the lunatic (ilay)
So taeui accepts ilay is a madman and he himself might hust be as crazy for actually liking him
