My absolute least favourite trends are anything that portrays a really awful and toxic relationship; rape, verbal/mental/physical abuse, forgiving and justifying and even romanticsing the abuser, a rival character as a plot device to torture or unnecessarily create conflict for the couple, bad communication and silly miscommunications.

I don't like reading a lot of omegaverse yaoi - it's just not personally my thing - and the ones I do read are the ones that have a unique spin on the genre (Megumi and Tsugumi being an example).
However, I saw a tweet recently which questioned the nature of omegaverse, and how most omegaverse societies only have heat suppressors for omegas but nothing like aggression suppressors for alphas. And honestly... why don't they? I like that idea so much more! It's less victimizing for the omegas in a society that condemns them for being born the way they are. It puts more responsibility on the alphas who need just as much control on their urges as omegas do. It halts the narrative that omegas with irregular heat cycles or omegas who don't take their suppressors are "asking for it".
But surely this isn't the first time someone's thought of this concept before! Are there any omegaverse yaoi currently that have explored a similiar theme? Please recommend them to me if there are some!
