The cross dressing and weird anatomy don't even bother me that much. What really bothers me is the fact that there was a plot I was actually interested in and it has been completely forgotten.

I thought it was a fake or something like a trial potion that had no effect. I’m pretty sure Loneal’s light magic could have removed that effect if it had worked anyways.

As far as I know, that is just what readers think. It hasn't been confirmed in the manga. For all we know it did work, but wore off at some point.
