In all honesty i didn't expect to enjoy this manhwa as much as i do. I hate rape tropes most of the time, and this manhwa is literally a hardcore rape porn that i started reading for shits and giggles, but somehow i found myself charmed by the way the author develop the story. I love the ambiguous ending, because it's a headcanon of mine that their relationship is doomed whichever way they go. Even if they did survive, i can't imagine them having a genuine happy ending. Hojoong would always have second thoughts as long as his debt remained and Ricky was still a can of mental illness ready to explode any time. Not to mention all the pain and trauma sitting like a giant elephant between them. It's kinda similar to the ending of the movie Graduation--i felt a growing sense of dread and "now, what?" from the last chapter, and i really love that! That's why the BTS drawings of them as actors in the afterword are such a treat because it's as if i'm allowed to have my cake and eat it too: i get the open ending that i prefer, and i also get the actor version of them that are genuinely happy and untouched by the horrifying violence.
That being said....i certainly won't be complaining if the author decides to write fluff for the extra side stories....heheheh
Guys please read the novel. Absolutely support the author by reading the manhwa legally on webtoon (it's free), but im gonna be honest with you: the manhwa doesn't do the novel justice. It skipped a lot of scenes that could've shown us how caring and protective iwol is towards the kids, even early on the story. The humor also hit better in the novel, so i highly recommend you checking it out

Mannnn reading this manga makes me realize all over again that i haven't been trying my best in living my life
