This chapter was genuinely so beautiful (artistically and poetically) and then it hits me with that fuckass name at the end, totally dispels the magic

I get that there may be a plant/galaxy named Sombrero, but at the end of the day it means hat. Please authors I beg you to reel in these creative liberties with characters names.

I was so excited to check in on this after months and finally have a chapter where the art wasn’t chaotic

…only to be immediately hit with that stupid ass “MC won’t save himself despite having every ability to do so, now ML is injured because he stood in front of MC instead of grabbing him or the attacker” cliche.

Just skip to the baby, I beg.

But someone else mentioned maybe Guwon and Jinwoo were part of the same experiment and it got me thinking. Maybe that’s part of the issue with Teach’s memory distortion/recall and killing intent while sleeping. It’s a side effect, the same as how Guwon clearly operates on a very intellectually elementary basis and holds killing intent/lack of emotional connection to the world around him.

Additionally, if you correlate these characters to the myth of Sisyphus, we already view Guwon as Sisyphus (significance of the boulder scene) so could Jinwoo potentially be Death? Has Guwon “chained him” somehow (I’m looking at those rings) and unless he corrects this then the world can’t be healed? Maybe they were keys to the cure for what caused the calamity.

I also had the thought that maybe it’s the opposite; Guwon is Death and Jinwoo is Sisyphus. Sisyphus was known for being clever to the point of arrogance- which was his downfall- and that fits more aptly to Teach. He holds this vague ideal that he can be two step ahead of Guwon just because he’s illiterate (hubris) and naively joins the schemes of the dissatisfied townspeople to overthrow the very system sustaining them. Because HE (and that group) believe they know better. I can easily see it collapsing in on him when Death comes to collect; he will inevitably face the punishment waiting for him.

I don’t know, just thoughts. Love it when a plot comes around that has you constantly guessing!

The ending feels unresolved. How are you going to introduce two major subplot climaxes (technically the undercurrent of ML family drama’s been there, just came to a head stacked on death of MC’s deadbeat dad) and not follow through to a resolution with either.

This was not a ride off on the sunset moment, friend. You read someone else’s room.

Like are they both jobless now? On the run from his hating ass daddy who still knows his address? Permanently traumatized because they refuse to believe sex can’t solve everything? Did she really order steak pizza? The people want to know.

Where are the adults? Why are children taking other children off campus when injured in these mangas? Authors and their convenient plot devices.

I find it odd that everyone is conveniently forgetting that this whole time Yeomin’s been known as the kid who is poor AF, recycling the same outfits and can’t go to any school events because he has to work 24/7 (even having loan sharks and his dad show up to hound him at school for money.)

Just because he has ONE recent semester of reprieve he’s suddenly Mr. Moneybags stealing opportunities from others? How TF does that track? I would literally be thinking “oh, he must have gotten the scholarship benefits in advance and they are only now publicizing it.” Because dude has been so down and out, is so on top of his grades everyone wants to group with him, so WHY would he not be within merit of the scholarship?

And to be clear, the scholarship was MADE for HIM. No one but him was ever going to be eligible for it regardless, what a joke.

But I find that the author is rather inconsistent with their characters across their novels. Comparing everyone’s main stories and cameos, it’s like the author only focused on making sure they paired all the main 6 off without remembering how they interacted elsewhere.

Would not be shocked if their next project is aging up the kids siiiigh.

I just lose interest the minute it becomes a sex slave dynamic like how do even the buff bottoms become doormats damn

I will actually kill her dead, IhateherIhateherIhateher- ☹

I’m seeing so many “how could he not know” comments when Tei literally chose gear with the intention of hiding his identity AND had the brother solidify his alibi. What reason did Shuraka have to think it was Tei? I know damn well on Halloween I’m not confident in keeping track of my friends lol.

People cannot comprehend an inhuman character acting differently than a human because they don’t have the same thought process, emotional attachments or moral compass.

Gwen is a gem for sure, and if Amon was just a regular dude he’d be straight ass, but how are you going to look at a cabbage and ask a cabbage to give a fuck about your feelings? It won’t, much less an immortal dragon that thinks of humanity as cattle but with advanced speech capabilities.

The novel literally describes the only reason of a dragons existence being to find their mate because they are so BORED they do not give a fuuuuck and can’t wait for everything to be over.

Just oooonce I want an author to bsffr and give us an honest moment during a spontaneous fuck where they are like “damn this is rank.”

no asshole is going to put the peaches on the farm to shame, but you can still want to bury your tongue in it because you’re a freak, not everything has to have the Bob Ross stamp of approval. all people get swamp ass, even regular ass ain’t a dove commercial. Prep is real!

Y'all he didn’t shoot him. The impact that kind of gun (and likely his equipped ammunition) would have on a body would be unquestionable and immediate.

He was probably in the middle of tracking something when dumbass jumped in, hence the “don’t move.” Heard my dad say it plenty of times in the woods growing up.

Unfortunately, the less you say (don’t move, don’t speak, don’t look, run) the more inclined people are to do the opposite for some reason.

Not one chapter having me fluctuate from maternal wholesome feelings with Mori to distraught/affronted for this new baby to swooning because one of the dream team entered frame.

You managed to do so fucking much with this for so long and SO WELL only to wrap it up with such a lackluster, swiss cheese ending? I’m satisfied because it’s a HE but that doesn’t make it any less of a let down.

I think this is going to be an important turning point for sabotaging Jinwoo’s plans since he was wondering who mattered more to Guwon, the dogs or himself (which is crazy, he’s barely been there long enough to form a bond or prove loyalty.)

If Guwon handles finding his hand injury in the way I think he will, I feel like it’ll compromise Jinwoo being strictly “anti Guwon” because he’s clearly weak to affection (and lust) and we’re already seeing how easy he wavers.

I really interpreted that from the jump the author never intended for Brett to reciprocate Hayden’s love and I hate that. I don’t know why that’s being taken for realism, because you can literally put anything on paper and just go “how realistic”- that’s just a lazy cop out for not being capable of fulling fleshing out the complex characters you created and the relationships between them.

Don’t get me wrong, it was decent and I enjoyed the art. But nothing is actually resolved. Hayden is not a service top, he’s a general doormat who is going to give and give and give pieces of himself to fill Bretts emptiness during the relationship until eventually he’s hollow. We know these people in our own lives, it isn’t romantic.

Brett is a taker, clearly still of the outdoor cat mindset and only became attached to what Hayden could provide him (seen in his childhood flashbacks paralleling his internal confusion). From the Authors note, his little character comments and how from beginning to end it was only Hayden compromising, this isn’t love to me? It’s Hayden’s unrequited love bending its knee to accept crumbs Brett could scrape together for him.

And please spare me with any “love can look different” cliches or “Brett chased him at the end” because that was bullshit. Hayden pointed it out himself that Brett would never have come after him and it took him years to do so despite Hayden doing everything in that time to get his attention, Brett knowing nothing about him so not knowing how to court him and instead trying to provoke him into angry sex. If there was a spin off, they’d break up, simple as that. Because this is just infatuation.

An author writing characters too big for their story. Granted, it was originally a short story, but that’s something they surely would have weighed before embarking on this. Plenty of authors have handled complex characters and relationships remarkably well.

End rant, this isn’t that serious but I just have a lot of thoughts haha. Totally fine if yall liked it and whatnot, we all dig what we dig.

Mmm

If the plot twist isn’t that he tries to pull one over on Guwon only for him to fall harder in the end and sabotage his own plans, I will NOT be satisfied LMAO
