left it to marinate, only to get a dumb bitch of a protagonist.
There's huge difference between apathy and not understanding/relating to other people's feelings
and lacking common sense and having the iq of undeveloped toddler. Grayson isn't written as an emotionless psychopath but as a literal kid with the dumbest brain bec ffs how's not speaking when someone's literally shushing you and trying to be secretive or how isn't it the most basic common sense not to leave a kid locked up even when you don't pity them or even give a single fuck what that child may be feeling then...etc
I'm usually against child abuse, but Ash should've beaten that dumb bitch even harder
also the way all women written here absolutely gives me the ick what kind of MenWritingWomen challenge r we cooking here
anyway god save Dane bec I honestly kms if I had to be paired with a dumb bitch
You can always drop now if it's not your taste. The author has the tendency to write problematic or in your definition stupid mc/ml in most of her works, the only differences is this one was long enough to have proper character development. If you want green flag or relatable characters right from the beginning this series is not for you.
If u want u can try to read the novel, actually comprehend the characters, and give this a chance. There's a reason why he did that w the child. Grayson isn't some baseless dumbed down kid. The moment he understood his emotions towards dane he literally groveled because he thinks something as deep as love cannot be terrifying like that. This man is one of the best/decent ml's in the verse—this is NOT the worst story in the series. that I can guarantee. someone's worser and brutal than Grayson. and fyi God ain't saving Dane, that man you're siding with fully admitted he raped grayson. if you can't handle something mild like this do NOT read anything from ZIG LOL /nm
Crying bcs i know for a fact you don't read shit about this author at all anyways if you want to read it I suggest you read the novel bcs even Dane is not the green flag you think he is lol and why are you justifying Ashley's abusive and psycho personality like he even did that to chase, that's why his kids are all messed up in the first place, if you want some wholesome shit go read something out there, there's literally so many stories about the shit you like
I dont really know what to feel but the end seems dragged but out of the blue and lacking in the same time although I did love Caesar and Leewon's relationship but Caesar was much more of a black flag than he was originally established to be it was a bit off here and there
anyways it was a great read def recommended
Love that they showed that his aunt was partially tormenting juheon out of actual worry for him and not just purely for money bec in reality ppl, esp family, aren't just cartoonishly evil one dimensionals, on the contrary, it's always way worse with the manipulation being rooted in love or care that's doing the most damage bec that care be ultimately dismissing you as a person and painting a shell of what's supposedly right for you in their heads instead, which turns one into a mere doll in their schemes as they themselves believe they're the rightful heroes saving you from your own self through destroying you as a whole but ofc all their shitty actions in process is 100% justified bec they're doing you a favor, out of love, in the end
I hear what you’re saying and it could be true in some cases but not in this one, the aunt has never cared for Juheon or his mother, not now, not ever. The reason she was worried was because of herself, if he went missing or hurt himself or ended up kms, she’d had to answer to the grandfather, their lawyers and the public. He’s her insurance and meal ticket. So sometimes people really are just evil and selfish
that's def part of it, no actually that's for sure the majority reason for her actions but this chapter made it clear there's still some part of love/worry she has for juheon imo as twisted as it might be but it's there prob the reason why she's not a single remorse for her actions but keep tormenting him further too since she's in her head is doing jubeon a favour

I've put this one away for a while after their flashback but now finishing it in one go I've so many thoughts.
The author def knows how to build a complicated story and layered characters, all characters were pretty likable in their own complicated ways even the antagonists themselves.
however, taking this into consideration it felt so anticlimactic for not a single one to be actually held accountable but worse with every single antagonist being excused and justified that they had a reason for being objectively shitty ppl. chairman is just pitiful like Geon, poor prosecutor was just in love, reider has trauma himself so ofc it's understandable that he made Geom's life a literal misery... etc
makes you think what was even the whole point of Lee's entire revenge plan when barely any one of them got a real punishment??? just to escape his life while -more or less- forgiving them for everything they did?
there's no absolute logic in that. author should've rly learned a thing or two from the pawn's revenge and even Je-oh didn't have as much of a hellish life as Geon.
Also, the sex/rape scenes left a very unstomachable lump in my throat, they were executed too much in fetishy way rather than having anything to do with it being SA. The way every panel was drawn and executed made me so uncomfortable and I don't usually even care after reading over +2k story, alot of which were old yaoi or straight-up pwp.
I wish this story hadn't had a single sex scenes and we just goy Geon's thoughts and agony in words,
