I think the only good thing here is her father. Her father is desperately trying to find his daughter who disappeared, he's so worried he can't sleep at night. And when he finds out the other girl kidnapped his daughter and sold her to a brothel, he tries to have the girl executed. I would say he's the best dad. Notice I said good thing, not good character. Don't you dare misunderstand me, or at least misunderstand me correctly
Ch 44: finally! At this point, I would not mind if it was the end, I don't need the emperor and crown princess getting their due deserved karma, the rumors proven wrong, her name cleared, or the crown prince to wake up and see how dumb he is. I just need all the unnecessary drama for drama's sake to be over. It could have just ended before they left the opera and I would be content.
Every time she says san or sama it takes me out of the story completely... The story is obviously set in a fictional 1700/1800/1900s European setting. Can't they say lord or master or something instead
Finally a saintess who just really loves the crown prince and doesn't care about becoming queen. She just wants him. And who actually "saved" the MC by taking the poison that was meant for MC instead
I wouldn't say she saved her. If the MC's father hadn't hidden her away then she could have easily been sentenced to death for the attempted murder of a saint. Heck, the only reason the crown prince was willing to pardon her later in the story is because he realized he wasn't able to do anything without her after she was gone. If she had been sentenced she would have been put to death before he realized just how much he needed her to succeed and she wouldn't have been pardoned in time. Also the saint didn't care if she lived or died. She wouldn't have stopped the MC from being put to death if it meant protecting herself and allowing her to be with the prince. That's obvious when the temple "tests her poison resitance".
That wasn't really my point though. I'm just happy to finally see a saintess who just wants the Prince because she loves him and not because she can be crown princess or queen. In other Stories the saintess gets med or dump the Prince when he is no longer first in line, decided to give up the crown or lose his status as Prince. This one just want to be with him because he is him

None of them are in a relationship, they have not talked about being exclusive. Technically nothing wrong with her having a one night stand with that douchebag as well. She has liked him for a decade, even if she is trying to get over him, those feelings take time to disappear. Of course it is difficult to say no when he suddenly throws himself at her. It is not like they said let's become a couple. I don't think her sleeping with him has anything to do with her having a spine or not, but more of a she is human with needs. People these days get in bed with each other all the time. It is not like she said she hates him and never want to see him again. She just want to move on and that takes time..
