i would love to say that their misery can be solved with proper communications since it seems that's the actual biggest problem that cause this madness to further developed to the point of turning back is exactly that.

but uhhh, etienne is so deep in the trenches that whatever sioanna says could never reach him anymore.

I finally jumped to the latest chapter because I genuinely couldn’t handle how bad the plot has become STARTING chapter 92 (couldn't imagine it'll get worse, but it fcking does bro... HOW??).

The writing has completely gone off the rails. Ariadne is supposed to be a regressor, yet she’s acting like a total dumbass who learned absolutely nothing from her first life.

She lets Isabella walk free after everything that happened. She plays dangerous political games with Alfonso without any real tactical planning.

And the worst part? It's Alfonso. He literally tells the queen that he’ll act like the rightful heir then proceeds to do the exact opposite. Like… how are we meant to take this seriously?

Alfonso

1) As the crown prince, you do not get the luxury of wavering when your whole country is on the stake, mate. That is the weight of the crown. Even if you don’t want it, you don’t get a choice, exactly like your mother told you before. That’s the price of royalty that you have to pay for all the convenience amd resources you gained throughout your life.

2) As a man in power, you should have cleared all marriage negotiations immediately before diving deep with ariadne. You know damn well how dangerous this situation is. The risks, the consequences, the political fallout, none of that falls on you as hard as it does on Ariadne. She will always get the shorter end of the stick because she doesn’t have your title or authority.

3) WHY are you leaving the gallico kingdom princess hanging like that? Yes, she’s annoying. But THINK. USE YOUR CRITICAL THINKING CAP FOR ONCE. From an outsider’s perspective, YOU are the problem and Ariadne literally looks like a woman coveting a man who’s in engagement talks, which is basically flirting with scandal, almost equivalent to an affair in this setting. Clean. Your. Shit. Up. Do it for both of you. All talk, no action ass male lead.

Ariadne

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start.

Why does she become brainless and spineless the moment a man is involved? She knows how dangerous her secret relationship with Alfonso is. She literally died in her past life because of “love,” and yet she does it again. No hesitation. No self-reflection.

She keeps drowning herself in the mercy of others when she could actually win if she just stepped back and let events play out. She falls in love with Alfonso way too quickly. Yes, she’s lonely. Yes, she needs emotional support. But once that “shoulder to lean on” becomes the reason your burden multiplies, it completely loses its purpose.

You are not here to find love.
You are here to survive.

Throwing away every advantage for a man is not a survival skill, it’s sheer stupidity. The narrative tries so hard to paint her as aloof and intelligent, but the fact that she caves to emotion every single time tells us exactly who she is: someone who will always prioritize feelings over logic and self-preservation.

Everyone Else

Cesar? A fucking plot device. He used to be a solid villain. Now he’s just there to show how “desirable” Ariadne is, with zero real influence. Useless.

THAT WHITE HAIR HEIR GUY AND EVEN THE DAMN PRINCE KNIGHT THAT'S PICKING ARIADNE UP FOR HER RENDEZVOUS IS BLUSHING FOR HER, LIKE TF???

The Gallico Grand Duke? Also brain-dead. You’re nobility. You have money, power, subordinates, and you decide to kidnap the female lead yourself? Be serious. Hire people. Use your resources. This is basic competence.

Lord, don't EVEN get me start with other character's writing.

At this point, every single character except the Queen is intellectually inept.

This manhwa is failing spectacularly. There’s nothing girlboss or empowering about this story. It’s just male-centered writing dressed up as “strong female lead,” where women are praised for being better than others while still throwing logic, autonomy, and survival instincts away for men.

Absolute waste of potential.

    toku January 24, 2026 6:12 am

What frustrates me the most is the underlying message this manhwa keeps reinforcing onto the reader : that a woman’s GREATEST value, no matter how intelligent or capable she is, lies in being desired and coveted by men.

No matter how impressive a female character is written to be, the narrative ultimately reduces her to the same position : helpless without male intervention. Survival, power, and resolution are all framed as things she cannot achieve on her own. A man must step in to “save” her, even though those same men are the ones who repeatedly show up as her greatest threats. It creates an awfully contradictory dynamic where male desire is both the danger and the solution.

Isabella is a special case, as her writing is at least consistent with her character. But the problem becomes impossible to ignore when every female character in the story acts within the same framework. Their motivations, conflicts, and sense of worth are overwhelmingly centered on men.

The common statement of “that’s just how the era was” doesn’t hold up, especially when there are countless historical and pseudo-historical manhwa that handle these dynamics better. Restrictive social systems can be portrayed without stripping female characters of autonomy. Romance can exist without overtaking survival, strategy, and personal ambition.

Well-written romance should complement a character’s goals, not replace them. Emotional vulnerability should not erase intelligence, nor should longing be framed as empowerment, and yet this manhwa repeatedly confuse desirability with strength, as if being wanted is the ultimate proof of a woman’s worth.

Although this manhwa attempts to present itself as a story about strong women and political issues, what it ultimately delivers is a narrative where women are exceptional only as far as men are drawn to them.

and that, more than anything, is what makes the story so disappointing.

what you hate the most is probably the best explored concept of the entire story in my personal opinion. through out history and even modernly a woman's greatest boon is/was a man's devotion because it was the most reliable access point to safety and influence. it's how the story starts and probably how it will end.

marriages are political. getting in the wrong marriage can kill you and everything you'd built. mc managing to get a title as the daughter of a cardinal without a union is a major power move bc women are usually seen as nothing but property or a contract, and even then the title was supposed to burden her.

mc's goal isn't to abolish the patriarchy, it's to survive and live a relatively good life.

i can understand how the story is dissapointing to you in a political aspect and the repetition across every female character weakens the narrative, and i don’t think “that’s just how the era was” is a full defense. restrictive systems can be portrayed without flattening women’s interiority, and this story doesn’t always succeed there, but it's pretty solid politics from the perspective of a woman in history whose family has very little political influence.

i personally read it more as a story about how narrow the channel of power is for women in this world, and how even intelligence and strategy still have to move through that constraint i.e: the queen, isabella and her mother (the cardinal's wife).

considering the premise this manga is written on and how it start, i would say that the author did an amazing job in fleshing out their characters. no unnecessary conflicts, fillers, or arcs that drag it more than necessary.

the story mainly focuses on the inevitable struggles of the human heart and mind, the maturity and self-improvement that come with age and time, and the idea that while we cannot control our feelings, we can ALWAYS choose how we act, making conscious decisions to do what is right despite them.

the male lead is fully aware that his feelings for his sister are strange and inappropriate and he does not excuse them or pretend they are acceptable. instead, he consciously keeps his distance and chooses restraint to make sure his actions remain respectful and protective of her well-being. likewise, the female lead knows her love will never be reciprocated, yet she still chooses to care for both of them with kindness even when jealousy and darker impulses surface as she witnesses the male lead’s devotion for his sister. she repeatedly refuses to act on them, choosing compassion and moral clarity over resentment.

DAYUM, the writer cooked so hard with this one honestly

probably because of the constant sudden shit writing every single time a manhwa hit 80 chapters mark LMFAOOO

(it's funnier if you stop reading before the 7th round arc started and went directly to the 80th chapter instead of continuing where you left off, got me "???? wtf happened , i left this for a month or two like ???????")

Lolllll I imagine someone skipping it would think the writing went to shit. Wouldn’t be the first time the mc got reworked for the worse. Even I reading the whole thing got whiplash and him acting dumb….

it does feel a bit rushed starting from chapter 60+, but i really love how the author portrays life as a series of unexpected events that unfold beyond our control. we can plan everything, become powerful and incredibly smart, but going against fate is still a gamble with no guaranteed outcome.no matter how advantageous you are, the chances of failing are always there.

the way kayena is portrayed is amazing, she’s brilliant, yet held back by long-standing traditions, stereotypes against women, and her past reputation. when she finally manages to rise above it all, it’s already too late, showing the painful struggle between human will and the cruel passage of time.

i agree that the magic part felt random, and vayel too, but i also love the idea that sometimes we meet unexpected people who end up playing important roles in our lives.

i think the fact that kayena never fully achieves her goals is what makes this story so unique, it captures how nuanced and imperfect the human experience really is.

she's realistic, much like most people and what they go through in everyday life.

the last part especially, when she asks the male lead, “did I even save anyone?”, perfectly captures the essence of human struggle: that uncertainty of whether what we’re fighting for truly matters, or if it’s even worth it in the first place when everything finally ended.

for those hating on his ex, you guys really need to stfu.

you cry and whine that women should have a backbone and know what they want, but when they ACTUALLY do, suddenly it becomes a problem. make it make sense.

1) everyone moves at their own pace in life, true. but that doesn’t mean she’s obligated to wait for him. did she call him an asshole? did she sabotage him? did she abandon him without explanation? no. she simply acknowledged the reality, their timelines were different, and it wasn’t going to work. so, she ended it. that’s maturity.

2. JUST BECAUSE HE'S A GOOD PERSON DOESN'T MEAN HE'S THE RIGHT PERSON.

3. missing the person and the memories you shared is normal, because yes, they did love each other. but love alone isn’t enough if the relationship isn’t sustainable. if your fundamental lifestyles don’t align, it won’t last, no matter how much chemistry you have. it will, in fact, only breed resentment as time passes and the issue continues to be ignored. they did a good job understanding this and ending it early, even.

Imagine this,

you’re a hardworking woman who wakes up early, has a clear vision, goals, and drive. meanwhile, your partner just does the bare minimum, prefers to “go with the flow,” only puts in effort when pushed, and doesn’t have much direction. that doesn’t make him a bad guy, but fundamentally, you’re on different levels.

and she’s ALLOWED to want more, someone just as passionate, driven, and reliable as she is. someone who matches her energy.

this is such a basic concept. what’s disturbing is how one-sided the butchering has been. and honestly? I’m especially disappointed in fellow women for tearing her down instead of understanding her. do better.

100% I get people are biased because we are following the MC's POV, but like, it is severely clouding some people's judgement. She did nothing wrong to the MC, they're just not compatible, and that happens. I think some people also just like, can't imagine a break up where both parties were essentially faultless, which says more about them. The mismatch thing goes both ways too, I'm very go with the flow and I think I'd hate dating a person who's always hustling and super driven. It would be exhausting to have to deal with someone like that for long periods of time. Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with their lifestyle/them as a person, it just doesn't match with mine. Also ladies, get your bar out of hell if you tolerate this sort of mismatch of life styles when you date. Your partner should match your energy most of the time.

All of us come back with hope that there's actually some kind of development but noooo LMFAOOO what did we all fucking got?

A cliifhanger + no development + an undescribable intense feeling to commit unspeakable atrocities + continuation of rape scene that was absolutely unneded and unnecessary for the plot.

Fuck off Ben. Seriously

This have so much potential if not for 1) the fuckin translation and 2) the undermining of MC's father death cuz whoever the fuck author is, bro's prob fatherless.

Tbh what's the point of making mc have that big of a family if they're not going to contribute for her growth. If the author didn't know how to develop those characters, it's better to not include them at all. It's a poor choice since they have so many potential but was downgraded to simply be "mc's family" and not having their own personalities. They have zero relevant whatsoever to the current mc emotional, physical and mental well-being as if portrayed in the manhwa right now.

The pace was a big whole ass of a mess and let's not even start talking about their mother. God. Especially their mother. Really hate the flashbacks too. To pinpoint the whole anguish to the father and burn his stuff, not remembering any of the memories? The choices mc make as a child to cover the pain? There's so many things that could be unfold yet the author wrap it up just like that? Bro. Bro. *internal scream* That arc was so bad that even the anger towards the grandma are barely felt? It was such a ruthless scene too since the fathers death were buried just like that. Not even a bit of explanation. It's like the author is saying "that's just how she is lol"

If you read between the lines, you can somehow relate that flashbacks to mc's personality but it was so poorly executed that honestly I only connect the dots after reading some of the comments which is as confused as I am with the translation but manage to do better.

New characters keep popping out of nowhere too when the already existing one are barely mentioned that their presence leave no impact at all.

MC is young and she's not evil or anything so I'm fine with the way she conduct her life but dear lord she's so bland and I don't see where the story is going. Take an example orv or just general popular and well-received manhwa. Most of them in one way or another give a brief introduction of what's the whole thing their story are all about. Even with mediocre mc, if you can give out an interesting story plotline or side characters to make up for that generic mc trope, it can rivaled the one that have both.

I'm guessing the author is aiming for the other type which is generic trope but outstanding mc but let's be honest, it didn't fucking work out.

I'm pissed because it could've been good and it was good the first few chapters but the constant insistent that the mc is powerful and nothing can fazed her with literally zero plot and aim for future content is just not it man. The characters was amazing too and the drawing is top-tier.

I don't usually comment on something I don't like but man I am so fucking disappointed because I do like it a first and I'm fucking hyped since the mc is a female?

Even if you got the translation right, the poor execution can barely make it up. It's a fine read if you have nothing in your reading list at the moment or for some light read (if you like this type of mc ofc since it's not everyone cup of tea) but to expect it to get better is highly unlikely.

Honestly, idk if it's even the author's fault for the poor execution since I haven't read the novel but there's usually a very small chance for the artist to mess up big time like this. Whatever it is, it's definitely a huge disappointment.

Kudos to those who had read the novel and helped others to understand the story btw, may your pillow is warm on both side everyday (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

I feel u sm. I've only read upto chap 7 cause it feels so empty and bland. I heard a lot of hype on this on tik--- and i really want to read female mc in a dungeon concept. But well, the story feels so self-inserted au. I can't resonate with it. ╥﹏╥
