Unfortunately, I think this part of manga is also because there is very little support still for mental health in Japan. I've spent time looking into how therapy and mental health are addressed with very little good outcomes. Most people's experience is that it's lackluster. And with that said, with how many mental health related cases end up coming up after something pretty terrible has happened, it's not hard to see that the culture around therapy is not as common, and if it is, it's not as talked about. Therapy and mental health is starting to become more common but its not the norm for everyone. I wish it was.
