I don't think anyone refers to gay men as those things aside from in fiction? Also 'tops' and 'bottoms' are an actual thing(If that's what's upsetting you), displayed by many gay dating apps. Either way I don't think it's anyone intention to degrade anyone else with these terms.

Uke/seme is the Japanese equivalent of saying bottom/top to us. Not much difference, just the language. So why would gay men who do in fact use the terms (bottom/top) be degrading to themselves?

Uke and Seme are just the japanese terms for top and bottom in BL mangas and fanfictions. Also for the mangas if you don't like usint uke and seme theres always the tachi and neko where tachi is the top and neko(meaning cat but in BL mangas it refers to the position of bottom) is the bottom. But if you are new to BL thrn get used to it cause most people call then uke and seme to make it easier to either describe or explain. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I can understand that.
Part of the problem is unawareness - one can use the terms in that way because others do and so it appears correct and inoffensive; the other part is that BL creators (whether or not it's appropiate) generally sort their characters routinely into these roles, which means calling them "uke" or "seme" has a literary element such as "protagonist" and "antagonist".
Of course, that doesn't mean people should just live in ignorance and perpetuate an insenitive or generally inaccurate way of describing characters, and that other people shouldn't make them aware. It just means that there's less harm intended than mere general laziness and uncaring, in many cases.

I'm an idiot and believed the comments about it being good and for some stupid reason kept reading it and am finally dropping it at chapter 94 because I can't keep reading this genuinely disgusting shit. Also including that it has rape in the title so other idiots like me don't read it.
I never comment but I just need to get these emotions out about this waste of time. First off the Mcs revenge plan was stupid and he has absolutely no backbone he spends every second crying and getting hurt somehow, we're meant to believe he's good at his job??? hes a grown ass man crying every two seconds. For the first like 40 chapters I went from liking him to finding him incredibly annoying which is eh I could deal because ofc everyone was absolutely raving about how great this manhwa was. The horrors came soon after.
OVER HALF OF THIS MANHWA IS THE MC GETTING HORRIBLY RAPED what the actual fuck why did I keep reading it became more like a car crash you just can't look away from. The past 50 or so chapters I have read have just been dragged on scenes of the mc getting abused by this man. It's just the same thing after another, the mc feels joy for 2 seconds, ml can't handle that, rapes him and talks about how much the mc is enjoying it (he is begging for it to stop), ml does one tiny act of kindness (not even more so just not down right cruelty) and the mc is in love!
At some point I was only reading hoping that mc would finally go back to his family and escape that man. I felt hopeful for a tiny bit when in chapter 92/93 it was shown that he found his id (after ofc the mc stole it because we love abuse!) but no because then we couldnt have a happy ending we're they are together forever! he got him a fucking cake.

I know that he rapes him again in chapter 94 in fact! its the only one with a warning! the only one somehow despite it all being rape. I just can't do it anymore I hate this so much.
I enjoy a redemption sometimes its nice to see some well written character development (rape is unforgiveable) and that's what these comments convinced me I was going to read. This mythical character development that's meant to happen between chapter 94 and 108 after 94 chapters of this??? that's good writing to some of you??? isn't a character meant to idk change gradually?? I wanted to see how it would play out because I invested too much time into this. Please tell me how it does end but I just can't take it anymore im walking away.
feel free to defend this affront to humanity or say that im really weak and you've read worse as if that's a flex I have too I was also a teenager with unrestricted Internet access but I won't bother as I have had more fun writing this than reading the thing and I think seeing that people would be willing to put energy into arguing that this is peak somehow would crumble all the faith I had in humanity.

Your view and opinion on this is very important and correct. However, I do believe it’s a conscious choice to read fiction with distributing things in it, and it’s also a conscious choice to make excuses for rapists, but they two very different things. Should this material be romanticized and excused? No absolutely not. But do survivors of trauma and others have the right to enjoy this read because it is fiction? Yes absolutely. Two things can be correct at the same time :)
What i was saying only really applies to people without experiance of being a victim, working through trauma is a complex thing. But you also need to be critical about the messages th8ng implant in your brain. If the message sent out is SA/R is a small thing and can be forgiven easily, then no. Then no. I absolutly do not support it or any injestion (and therefor absorbtion, conciouse or not) of this message. Normalising things (let along enjoying certain SA concepts!) will have a subconciouse affect and lower outrage on this type of behaviour. And lower outrage means higher chances of making excuses for perpetrators, especially in peoples personal lives. Im not saying everyone who enjoys this manga will do that but just based off this i wouldnt trust them to not make excuses, say for a friend of theirs, if they comitted SA. Bias and subliminal messages arevpwerful, abd if you dont beileave, say copaganda doesnt exist in US film idek what to say. Not gonna apoligise for the length of this lol
Ofc, there’s no need to apologize. I do totally agree with you. Everything you said is correct, it’s my opinion that everyone can write what they want to and anyone can read what they want to without being swayed by others. There’s complexities on both sides like you said, and I do appreciate your perspective :)
