I freaking hope ML just lose his memories and feel detached to MC again, dude's acting stupid coz of some bussy. I kinda get the hounds, they 100% trusted him, they are literal dogs who took the ML as their indestructible alpha who will protect the pack no matter what it takes, only to be roped so easily without so much as a good fight all coz he wanted his twink to live, I'd be pissed off too. If it was some deranged mutant zombie that hurt him, he'd still have my respect, heck if the rebels actually got to him, I'd still be on his side coz he did fight, it just wasn't enough, but nah, broski CAN fight but just opted not too for fear that it will upset his "teach", get out of here, you're weak!
Lowkey feels like author amped up on detaching the hounds to the ML coz the feedback on this story so far has been that the rebels are stupid, so they're probably gearing on making the hounds establish their own separate sects of newfound pack/s which will eventually become the villains to the ML/MC and the rebels (coz u just know those idiots have plot armor along with MC). I just hope for at least one chapter where they actually get to be forced to choose between fighting and surviving, they have time to be guilty coz they've been living a privileged life (in this world context), if they had to be out there on the daily fighting off zombies for scraps of resources, they'd have a different mindset
Sure it's a given that they can't overpower the ML and his hounds when it comes to brawn, but by god if they've been planning this shit for a long time and if they're truly passionate about it, they could've been more strategic, go all or nothing yknow? so what if one or two of them die? if it achieves the goal then they wouldn't die in vain. I don't even understand how they'll negotiate the terms, they have nothing to offer aside from being free labor- the resources are provided and protected by the hounds- if all of them die, the hounds will still survive, but if the hounds are gone, they won't survive for long- so what even is their long term leverage? no one's stopping them to leave either, but of course they won't do that
I'd be on their side if they made efforts to find or create resources that the hounds are taking instead, also I might be missing something but aren't they not being forced to come with them too? they don't hunt or torture living people if I remember correctly, they are just made to choose, so if they loved their family so much and the group won't allow them to come because they're useless then they should've opted to stay with them instead of choosing to live and then blame the group for their deaths when they explicitly explain why they can't take them in in the first place. The audacity

As what Guwon said, they're weak. They're afraid to die, but they're also afraid to fight. What I hate the most is the lack of planning and preparation. Their only plan is to get guns. I don't even think they've practiced how to use it. See, when they start shooting Guwon, NOBODY LANDED A HIT EVEN ONCE. Except for teach. But that's also when Guwon has stopped moving.
They want to keep the luxury and comfort that Guwon was giving them, but they don't want to work for it. It's post apocalypse. Guwon doesn't unreasonably kill anyone. When he kills, it's only when there's a reason. So yeah, it's basically stupid

A lot of them are clearly doing this to:
1.) Get revenge
2.) Ease the guilt that they themselves feel
3.) To grasp to whatever is left of their morality and sense of justice
and to gain some sort of independence.
They had good chemistry at the start, but it fizzled away with that whacked ending, what even was that conflict and resolution? the top suddenly blurting out that he's not serious would've made sense if he's the one who wanted to keep the rs under wraps coz he cares about his reputation as a playboy, but dude was also the one who leaked their rs and stopped talking to girls. It's like author was conflicted on making a douche ML when they clearly can't pull it off, so they settle for dialogues that doesn't match the character's actions which is why there's disconnect.
MC was too whiny for me at first, but considering that he was basically a shut-in who uses BL as his ideals, it still makes sense why he's so unrealistic, also he did improve a bit later on, it's kinda annoying how he's easily swayed even after the breakup tho but I'll give it leeway again to him being inexperienced and blinded by his attraction to the ML who took many of his firsts
this is a fresh pairing, it's like witnessing the beginning trend of beta x omega/alpha, I hope he stays civilian, wanna see how the author pulls their plot and character dev, also hoping that this makes a 3 for 3 on good storywriting - main story, side story, and AU story
coz I find this interesting and want to go directly to the ending, and apparently it's still ongoing?? anyway, to those who actually read it fully- can we get spoilers please? the angle about MC not catching feelings for the ML is getting stronger, since it's that far out already, and he's still confessing to the Daphne character. I don't want to waste my time investing in a story that just looks promising but ultimately ends being a huge disappointment, if you like spoiling things, let us in on what's going to happen.

Oh dear... okay listen… as one who've read the novel up until the end, leme tell you that Richard takes FOREVER to realize what’s going on. Like, the man is blind. (cant blame him though) like he’s so obsessed with Daphne that he doesn’t even notice Caelus is literally in love with him from the start.... Like we do cuz yeah we’re stuck in Richard’s POV so it looks like Caelus is cold, distant, enemy vibes… but really, nope. Like in this scene in chapter 24 in the manhwa, we see that Caelus is following him around, and he's just actually worrying about his man and tryna protect him and Richard just thinks “ugh rival.” BRO. (CAN'T BLAME HIM THOUGH)
And then — this is the part that GOT a loooot of novel readers, and even the TL of the novel rage slightly; even after Richard learns the truth (that Daphne and Caelus are regressors too, that the world is basically a giant messed-up loooooooop), he STILL clinged to Daphne. Like HELLO?? She’s like, literally, the mastermind behind everything and.. EVERYTHING. And Richard’s still like “but Daphne…” …sir… please… i actually almost raged at this..
It’s only near the end that Richard finally snaps out of it. He finds out all the things Caelus did for him across their past lives — the sacrifices, the quiet devotion, the way Caelus kept trying to protect him from Daphne and from harming his own self again and again (because richard couldnt handle the truth about daphne, as daphne was his only purpose for living, but oh caelus i also really feel bad for you. because in my POV, he's also suffered a lot, like a whole lot, comparable or even more than richard) And that’s when it finally hits him. That’s when he starts catching feelings. But guess what? It’s like... basically at the END. Like huhu, we wait the whole novel for this payoff and it only happens at almost near the end. But hey, the side stories are still ongoing sooo...
So yeah… Richard x Caelus is the slowest burn of slow burns. one time, i became frustrated, like i was literally yelling at Richard to WAKE UP, and then when he finally does… it’s bittersweet because it’s so late. But also… kinda well, lets say, perfect for the angst. (im a sucker for it)
Overall, for what i think—the novel is alright. It depends on you if it'll be worth your time as there's a lot of interesting things that happened. And it's fairly different from other novels as well. It's quite unique, and also short. Finished it in just one sitting. To me, it was quite worth the satisfaction. The MC could get a bit frustrating at times but who could really blame him? with all those crazy sht happening and he didn't even know about it for the most of the story.

Well, she definitely meets her end. She does get punished, though I’m not sure if it feels like the kind of satisfaction you’d expect. Daphne’s whole deal is that she’s basically just a soul that went completely insane after countless regressions — like, she’s the one who regressed the most out of all of them. And yeah, she’s your typical manhwa-style regressor where a 21st‑century soul inhabits her body. We’re talking thousands and thousands of loops, and every time she torments someone, the world resets again.
Her downfall comes when Richard finally stops loving her. That’s the key — Daphne couldn’t leave the world because in the original worldline, Richard still clung to her even when Caelus already despised her. So as long as Richard’s love remained, she had a hold. But once he finally let go, it was over.
And honestly, it is satisfying in its own way. The moment she realizes that the one thing she thought she could always rely on — Richard’s love — is gone, that’s when it ends for her. It’s not a flashy punishment, but it hits hard because it’s the exact thing she took for granted all along.
wat I only got was that the polar king wanted the help of the wizard to get rid of his condition but when he went there, dude's dead and only the bunny was left behind. Seeing how he acted, Polar kept the bunny coz he's just like him (eats the flesh/blood of other animals and goes dissociative), what's silly tho is the uke legit goes feral and kills others in the vicinity (even the polar king, he just can't overpower him), whereas the seme just goes super horny mode, alpha rut level lmao. But then again it could just be an exception and he usually goes on a killing spree too since he's all locked up, even the staffs expected the bunny to be mangled to pieces, so the rut thing maybe allowed him to survive, which means the king found the "antidote" to manage his condition. Only the bunny is oblivious to everything, even to his own state.
There are a few things that was not really given much answer tho like the nobles/royals at the beginning, that wasn't the polar king- also the bunny was found by the king and was brought to the castle himself, so who where thosee??
I thought the low rating was coz it's too fckd up for most readers but it's really just lukewarm for psychological, honestly it's just an obsessed top and an uke who's in denial with his obsession, there was an implied realization (I think?) near the end but it was so meh, I can't freaking feel the chemistry which is shocking since I like freak x freak trope. Might've been better if the seme offed himself and we see how that affects the uke, make him feel the weight of loss, ykno? since he didn't feel that for his ex-wife. I don't even know what the ending was, looks like they just returned to their HS setup except they're fcking now

that's what I said, dark fall isn't psychological like this work, so you can't compare the two, it's literally just dark romance which is why it's infested with rape and abuse since for whatever reason that's what the readers want, the creator just needed to polish the characters and the plotpoints so it's not disturbing enough, which again, is what dark fall offers- you said it yourself it has worldbuilding and plot that I assume the readers can get invested into, psychological works are focused on internal struggles, not just abuse for the shock factor.
If dark fall was really a psycho work, the rape scenes would've been a focal point throughout the story and cause the mc to wake up recalling it each time as trauma affecting his character development, and the rapists wouldn't be given any justification for their actions enough for the readers to be attached to them, but no, they are MLs for a reason, their entire design and purpose in the story is romanticized from the first chapter no matter what they do. Meanwhile, psycho works are always edging on going too far which is why some readers rate it low for being too disturbing, but at the end of the day, there's some level of understanding or satisfaction to decently made stories; This work couldn't offer that, it was just about 2 obsessed dudes, 1 who wouldn't budge and 1 who never learns coz everything in the plot goes his way, it's so freaking boring hence why I said- that's it?

Extra Chapter: Half of my dissatisfaction" --which is odd since this is a manga and it's usually published per volume, not chapter. Is this really it for the spinoff?

it's really confusing, coz I bought the officials for the first story since I liked it and wanted to support the author, and that one had the full volume + it just said the title in it, no "single chapter" or "extra chapter" tag on it
I've seen comments about people being confused about this work and I agree, but only because this work crammed 3 cps into one spinoff. So if you want to avoid feeling lost, highly recommend going through Tokyo in April/Tokyo:Critical Point before this one (doesn't matter which one of the two you read first, they're standalone stories each)- as for the links on those works, just scroll a bit, a commenter already made a topic on it.
It's not so bad once you have the lore of the characters upon reading this, I'm only disappointed with the first cp on this spinoff coz the author just recycled chapters from their own story, anyway you'll know what I'm talking about once you've read all.
