IMO I can see why people ship them and why people don’t. Me personally I don’t ship them because I can tell it’s queerbait/ fan service and it’ll never happen (buddy and destiel taught me well) it’s a cute ship and it’d make for a pleasant surprise if it were to ever go canon, but right now I’m liking the story a lot and I’ve finally caught up!!!
I'll be honest in the novel you can kinda see the author having fun with shipping yoojin with other characters,yoojin has said or had questionable thoughts about other men in the novel,and his relationship with hyunjae by far is the most questionable in the novel.I don't think the author even took romance seriously in the novel ever not even with other characters the most they did was say as far as I know is that there were dating rumors between sooyoung(blonde dragon lover girl) and riette(the older sister dragon) in the Korean media cause one kissed the other on the cheek(canon),the author gen fucks around with it,in the novel there was yoohyun telling yoojin that marriage proposals for yoojin(alliance reasons) have come from both men and women,and there's also the thing about the author confirming Hyuna(the red hair beaker guild leader) is alright with herself dating a woman if she really liked her.This novel while is action,comedy is it's main genre as well,the author kinda does this willingly just for the game of it,I don't think it was ever supposed to be taken too seriously imo,but hyunjae and yoojin in the novel are pretty questionable they say and do alottt of questionable stuff and even others around them are confused a bit
