The story from what I remember started off when the main character was young, maybe 6-10. He wasnt born with one arm, he was born with two but his father removed it using a technique which was passed down from generation to generation from what I remember. His arm comes clean off and it looks like he was just born without that arm, his father then places it into this case.
His father dies or goes missing im not sure, then theres a timeskip. All i remember from then is that he was setting off from home with a female friend (?) of his. They run into trouble and once he gets out his umbrella the bandits (?) realise who he is, i think he battles with them?

ya might wanna check Ogawa Chise's works, a lot of it are psychological BLs, tho I can't guarantee that there won't be rape. The ones that pop at the top of my head would be "Red Theatre" and "Caste Heaven" (the student pres x exchange student side couple specially), there's also another author, Harada who is known for doing f'd up characters and plots, but you might find some of it too much. As for other works, try "Sweet Heart Trigger", both leads are f'd up but you might just get annoyed reading them (I know I did). Also there's another one, "Love Murder Basketball"-- it stops at around ch19 on this site, but you can read the rest on comics.inkr
