I’d like to believe that Brett truly misses Hayden and wants him by his side because Hayden is the only one who truly understands him. However, it’s going to take hard work and perseverance that I’m not sure Hayden can muster to the level he did before Brett’s assault.
Realistically, it seems the author was offered a longer serialization of a pretty decent story and didn’t know how to proceed, leaving us all to suffer the consequences.
