Cause if we think about it, the emperor is his friend/brother and I don't think he's stupid enough to not know the MC wants to harm his friend/brother Idk I just find him a lil suspicious. Also, the fact that he isn't a ML which is also weird.
What did they expect. It's just so stupid and I'm glad the author isn't shying away from presenting it like that instead of like making the emperor stupid enough to fall for their plan. He' doesn't fall for it, he's just playing with them like animals.

BUT I prefer THIS over ML instant falling for the MC. There's something special and satisfying about ML seeing MC as just another fuck body but then he slowly becomes a special someone to him.
From the start, you could tell there was no revenge plot because the writer doesn't have the range to write a proper revenge plot. We have seen the uke making stupid decisions from the start and it's not his fault because the whole thing just doesn't have substance if you apply logics.
