She had no chance of even knowing the game??? How is it a bad thing that she tried to survive it

If she had just tried to survive it she may have SURVIVED, she could have been a mistress that made it out with money and lived a comfortable life (but she wouldn't have been queen).

But she kept grasping for power, and legitimacy, in a system she barely understood. And look at the choices she made when she got just a little bit of power, its not like she had pity for the servants also trying to survive.

There's some tragedy in it for her, but its also clumsy maneuvering and bad choices. She couldn't even recognize how out of her depth she was, so yeah, doomed from the start.

Are you dumb? I'm specifically saying the reasons Rashta is doing such over the top actions is because of writer I'm not making a moral judgment but if i was then...the author sucks ass and as a reader i can in fact judge the story

Yes I'm judging the actions and choices of a character INSIDE of a story based around political maneuvering. If you want to talk about her being a poorly written character or the authors biases, that's fine (but kind of irrelevant to my comment) but IN the story girl made glaringly bad choices and died because of them.

Unfortunate, but telegraphed pretty early by how bad she was at political maneuvering. Hence my comment.

She an uneducated slave who has been preyed on by educated older individuals, not even educated older MEN. I 100% understand the poor choices she made, it is not her fault the EMPEROR used her and you cannot look me in my face and tell you you would remain a slave rather than latch on to the EMPEROR

Which is fine, but lets not say she had no autonomy at no point? There are victims of terrible circumstances that don't go on to inflict similar harms after all. Rashta by clinging to the emperor ends up with more autonomy than many of the servants we meet...and look what she does with it. None of that erases her beginnings, and her beginnings don't erase her choices. Hurt people hurt people, but they don't get absolved of the actions the take either.

Also, uh yeah, I don't find anyone I'm personally morally aligned with in this fictional feudal monarchical political fantasy...nor did I expect to?
