Alright so I'm almost finished with my masters degree in psychology so I think I might be qualified to say that I think their relationship is not healthy. Of course this is fictional but I can't bear this anymore. Ash keeps putting Carlyle in situations he clearly doesn't want to be in and only gives him an out by giving him ultimatums he knows Carlyle won't be able to do or of he is doesn't give in if his ultimatum is fulfilled. The consent Carlyle gives is very much not honest and without second thought of Ash and I can't but think that Carlyle shows signs of being scared of Ash.
Carlyle dies not feel save enough to tell Ash if he wants to stop anything during intimacy and if he does say so it is mostly getting ignored.
He doesn't tell Ash if he has other problems or feels sad or has a question because he thinks he is going to be judged. That of course is not Ash's fault but the fact that he noticed but doesn't change the fact that Carlyle is unable to be honest by showing and telling him he is save just further makes me think he doesn't really care about Carlyle.
Please keep in mind that this is only my opinion after reading everything up to the side.7 and English is not my first language. You can have different opinions or came to a different conclusion but this is how I feel about their relationship.
Yes, I too feel like their relationship is full of red flags. For example, they don't even have a healthy sex life, Carlyle doesn't even feel the confidence to start things or prevent himself for saying "Stop! No!" everytime Ash initiates sex. I feel like... They don't even look comfortable together.
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO THINKS THE SAME AS ME!!!
Don't get me wrong, I do like the story, but I whole-heartedly believe Karlyle deserves to finally be able to express himself freely. And by the time they were together, I would have thought he might have felt safer with Ash, but it's the complete opposite! He's barely changed and that wounds me because he's such a nice character ☹
yes i agree.. its sad bc i used to thing this story was quite pure, but its quite obvious theirs a power dynamic that ash takes advantage of. and i also feel that lyle has lost completely lost his structure and alpha charm? hes now smaller than ash, and he is more insecure and hesitant at basically everything??
Oh Dear lord, yes. When I first read this story, I was a lot immature in understanding the true meaning of consent and feeling safe in a relationship. Then I reread this again, and I started realizing how much Ash was taking Lyle's insecurities granted, but unknowingly... I felt like many of his actions were toxic and could be flagged red. Most of the readers here have read characters much worse than this and might have had their morals diluted by this time. For me, I am slowly getting disgusted by this Ash's personality. But then again, thinking this is just fiction helps me.
Maybe it's just me but I feel like Seth is getting more feminine the more the story progresses. I feel like this is trying to hit the mainstream but I don't know how I feel about it anymore
so being feminine as a guy is a bad thing now... what's so wrong about a guy having feminine traits? does that make them less of a guy? im sorry but you make it seem like it's a bad thing to be happening. is being feminine such a weird thing for a man to be having? are you erasing femme gay characterization? there's so much feminine gays out there and they wouldve loved more representation with mainstream media. if you think gay pairings should always contain masculine characters, you might wanna check on yourself, if that belief is rooted in sexism
I'm sorry of it seemed that way but I simply pointed out that I feel like that is happening. No need to interpret anything into it. It's just that I've been noticing that recently more and more stories feature characters that develop into more feminine people over time, which isn't bad but simply something I wanted to say. I personally think that lately a lot of fictional homoerotic relationships are turning heteronormative by making the bottom more feminine and the top more masculine. It has nothing to do with feminine erasure but maybe trying to press gay characters into heteronormative stereotypes to appeal more to the general audience. I acknowledge and appreciate feminine men in hetero and homoerotic relationships, I just personally dislike changing characters to please others. Just my own opinion
I really love seeing people being happy without major struggles and just some funny or not that funny things happening. No big problems. It's so refreshing.
Couples that love each other unconditionally as well. So rare nowadays and in stories one of them is often very possessive or jealous.
As someone who has never been in a romantic relationship but craves the feeling of loving and being loved this cures my loneliness. I am still alone and I might stay for some time but it's okay because maybe, someday I get to experience this kind of commitment and caring as well. I don't want kids but I want to find a partner I can grow old with. Someone I can learn everything about, hood and bad, things we maybe need to work over and things that surprise.
But in the end I just want to be happy and with someone I truly love. Stories like these keep the impatience at bay and at the same time excite me even more.
(:

That's literally full on rape. No excuses for Ash bruh that shit is not okay
be so fucking fr rn
How this is rape ??? Lyle has safe word so if he did not want this he could use it just saying
Explain how this is rape when Lyle is consenting to everything that’s happening
there’s literally a safe word agreed by both parties.
Guys it’s obviously that this person didn’t read the manwha at all so let’s just leave them be because we all know better
Preach
Read the entire manga first BEFORE commenting hate.
It's always funny to me when people read kinky shit but don't know the first thing about kinky shit. Getting spanked is not rape. All of this was consensual kinkiness.
If "he knows I can't say that" is a consensual agreed safeword I don't think it actually is safe. I don't see much other consent happening and Carlyle wasn't even aware of what was going to happen. In my eyes not consensual
