I’m honestly curious are there any newer plots with delinquent tops actually? At this point it’s almost guaranteed delinquent tropes always exclusively the bottom.
I get that it’s for the sake of the plot, but I genuinely dislike stupid people.
Firstly given who the author is, it’s in everyone’s best interest this title make a disappearance. I admittedly read some of the plot and while it does seem interesting it’s certainly not worth the headache. Secondly, I’d genuinely like for once I mean truly for once to have a virgin x virgin plot where there isn’t a strict uke/seme dynamic. Why is there is NEVER seke when neither party has any sexual experience thus has every opportunity to to test what they actually like sexually with a willing partner is so apparently beyond the scope of women written BL in the year 2026 that it’s just baffling.
What’s even the point of this? If you’ve even watched even one Korean drama you know the grandpa doing all this heinous shit will be ultimately forgiven. I have never seen even one Korean made drama that actually commits to no contact or punishing domestic abuse within family dynamics. It’s a cultural thing I understand given the unyielding maintenance of upholding the status quo and deference to age hierarchy, but I’ll eat my hat if we see any realistic response to a homophobic abusive man terrorizing his own grandson and daughter by extension see any long standing consequences.
Does MC ever get any better because I’m genuinely baffled he’s genuinely an awful person. There is absolutely nothing redeemable about him. I mean the way he even speaks to his mother my god.
Given that info from the young heirs does this mean Kai has slept with them too? Because he’s written as an adult with a sex life but if this is going to just be your typical pairing of the overtly mature player coupled with the naive but quirky virgin then this is just a pig with lipstick plot that’s been written a hundred times just with a young master veneer. Because what makes the mc special compared Kai’s other conquests if they have similar backgrounds other than Kai gets to shape Jyuri to his specific liking given his circumstances.
So um some drunk rape to start things off. Got it.
So the plot is in the 1st chapter MC gets assaulted by some creep, his brother is kidnapped for simply defending himself in response. Then he is coerced by the first guy he sees where his brother is being held hostage, a man who intends to rape his brother but will now rape MC instead and will be the ML going forward…. And they say romance is dead.
I know this is fantasy but there’s no fucking way I’d get in a relationship let alone ONE CHAPTER in consider “getting with” some random guy I walked in on having raw public sex in a dirty bathroom. I’m all for sex positivity but that is fucking disgusting. Let alone this cliched pairing of your virgin and neighborly slut being peak romance. Have some fucking self respect, god.
What I don’t even understand with the Alpha x alpha or omega x omega pairings is that isn’t a whole aspect of the society that they are affected by pheromones. Wouldn’t the very fact that two alphas or two omegas being together wouldn’t work simply due to biological repulsion? Shouldn’t that be the elephant in the room more than anything? At least that’s being explored in a story like “love is an illusion-superstar!” despite its less than stellar writing. In that manwha it at least adheres to an aspect of the omegaverse genre that’s been bothering me when authors write same 2nd gender pairing that’s just simply ignored dependent on the author but still follows every other arbitrary rule of the defined universe.
Even if he’s not your real biological “son”, that is your son you raised since he was 3yrs old. The fact that he accepts his adoptive son’s romantic feelings and even goes as far as having sex with him on a whim is just wow I know this is a considerably older BL but this is fucked up in all sense of the word and this genre really just doesn’t give a fuck pseudo incest be damned.
I can see why they’re not together despite still being very much in love. They lack basic communication even before the year long disappearance act, and the baby face detective is very immature and insecure and his love language is clearly “if I were a worm would you still love me”.
Man based on the description alone I know this is going to suck but the art is gorgeous. Such a waste.
I just started this and am on chapter 9 but does Dajeong’ s cousin the brown haired guy ever get better because he’s such an asshole for like no reason and I just don’t get it. And secondly seula noona isn’t beholdened to like Haneul but she pisses me off fully knowing he’s just simply showing his direct like/ interest in her and won’t be direct and say she’s no interested. I mean he’s being overbearing because he’s not a mind reader for the most part he’s perfectly respected boundaries and is just being kind. She’s leading him on by being silent while accepting his gifts and tokens of affections. Then foisting the responsibility of confronting the situation on someone else is just shitty. I don’t like her.
So the rescue did not happen like that at all in the novel. But I’ll take what I can get.
Was the dragon rape really necessary after all that talk about valuing and respecting your fated partner. Bunch of bs. And with all the other featured couples right there to compare, this sours what is otherwise such a nice read. How unfortunate.
Joo-an is by no means at fault for not immediately reciprocating nor having initially having feelings for Seojoon what he is at fault for is taking for granting Seojoon’s willingness to go at Joo-an’s “speed” aka whims and believing that that is their normal rather than Seojoon defining himself by joo-an’s needs the entirety of their relationship. What’s sad is Seojoon decides to do this willingly. This thankless endeavor born from
a brief moment where Joo-an without prompting does something thoughtfully sincere through the gifting of the garden benches. This is what Seojoon hangs onto while we see Joo-an as also the spoiled rich man child that Joo -an actually is in contradiction. This is the whole crux of their issue more so than an unrequited love that is only now rearing its head finally. Seojoon shouldn’t have to be a secretary who is dragged across the world to help his boss woo a childhood crush, a crush mind you Joo-an at any point could have searched for on his own but rather only did so when it conveniently aligned with a work opportunity that would benefit Joo-an’s profitability and life. Seojoon shouldn't have to micromanage Joo-an personal life, emotional stability, and personal relationships. But he does this out of love and friendship and even as a friend it goes beyond. Joo-an has it realize this now and be confronted with this reality that others clearly see.
We know for a fact Joo-An dated others before his attempt at reaching out to Yoo Hajin so I’m sure Seojoon thought this was just Joo-an going through yet another whim that ultimately meant nothing given Seojoon had likely seen countless partners come and go but joo-an was different when it came to Yoo-hajin, it was the thoughtfulness that joo-An put in that same actual selfless care that he had one upon a time shown to Seojoon. The very actions that made Seojoon fall in love with Joo-an in the first place. This truly in my opinion is what made Seojoon realize his relationship with Joo-an was one directional in care and broke the fantasy finally. And this also what broke his reality with the realization that he had wasted his life over a man who never actually saw him, but saw him as a fleeting interest that eventually became background.
I genuinely wish Seojoon would just move on as he deserves more and the opportunity to live a life/identity not defined by someone else. I genuinely wish that sort of “ self love” was more present in the romance genre but that wouldn’t make for a status quo romance now would it? The author is going to likely for the next chapters have Joo-an really begin to see Seojoon as not only a single flower to eventually lose interest in but a rich garden of emotions and actions that is beautiful to not only observe but actually appreciate.
Honestly this is why I despise the second fiddle trope of harbored love, I know ultimately the second couple are an official coupling, but the Blond Frenchie(Jooan) truly doesn’t deserve Seojoon. Even if you exclude the fact that Joo-an isn’t beholden in returning Seojoon’s feelings he clearly doesn’t “respect” Seojoon beyond what he serves in meeting Joo-an’s immediate needs. I know they’ll end up together regardless of my wants but I genuinely wish the author went the route of giving Seojoon a proper a love interest, and still let Seojoon air out his grievances of being taken for granted. The fact he’ll still end up with Joo-an still ultimately reads as rewarding Joo-an despite his much needed self reflection and maturity growth.
