This author has another story with a proper plot and sex scenes came later. If the author has followed the same formula with slightly different plot points even this would be a hit. I haven't read this novel but the other adaptation was good. The art is to die for, the premise is okay but the plot progression is total trash.
I absolutely love this simply based on the unique alphaxalpha dynamic we got. I picked it up at 4a.m. hoping to fall asleep reading, big mistake. Finished it in one sitting and now I'm running on 4 hrs of sleep.
Anywho, I loved all the character. Brett, Hayden, all their friends and other side charas. One I hated got shot down so cool, bullying bc you aren't a well adjusted human in society is lame af. This is a well balanced meal of romance, angst, smut and good art. 10/10, would recommend.
Okay I have seen some comments about there being CA and Harold being a creep. I want someone who has read the novel validate these things for me. I did take up reading the novel but have only found myself getting less interested as the story went on bc the ML is shit imo or rather every character except Yujin and Angela are shit, so I stopped around the time Yujin starts hyperventilating. I honestly do not want them to end up together. Also, I understand that a huge part of this all shitstorm is the ML's mom and she somehow instigated Yujin mistaking Harold for ML while in heat. But I want to know what went down and how much of it is on Harold and how much of it is on his wife. (Frankly she reminds me of those toxic boy mums.) Anywho, help me sort this out. Thanks in advance..
Spoiler… and trigger warning (SA)
Honestly Harold is a big problem. Basically Mc is the child of the man Harold used to love. Harold found him in an orphanage and brought him to his house and kept him at an outhouse with the intention to have him once he presents into an omega. As mc was reaching closer to the age to present, Harold was already starting his assault. He would get the mc naked, make him sit on his lap and grope him (mc was below the age of 18 at this point). ML became aware of this and started to do things that would keep Harold occupied and away from mc.
Btw, even the age gap between the mc and ml in their past was iffy because I believe he was under 18 when their relationship started when the ml was in uni or already had completed uni (but correct me if I’m wrong). That is also why they had relationship issues because the mc was highly depended on the ml.
When the parents find out Harold was clearly upset that his son got to mc first before him and MLs mom was upset cause status matters to her and she also hates mc. After this mc and ml leave their house and ml starts working to support them both (mc has never had an education all his life and the only people he ever interacted with were Harold, ml, and the butlers/servants). This was a time of hardship between the two and also a cause of buildup of misunderstandings.
What actually went down on that night is a big plot reveal towards the end of the novel (so don’t read the rest of this paragraph if you don’t want the big reveal). Basically, the family was already building up some misunderstandings between the main couple for a bit (by this point the couple had moved back in). They drug the mc and he mistakes Harold’s pheromones with the ml and believes he’s with him. Through, nothing happens between him and Harold because, at that moment, Harold imagines his old love saying ‘this is why I didn’t choose you.’ After that he freaks out and runs out the room.
I actually would recommend you read the novel if you can. I found the novel quite nuanced, epically in the scenes describing what happened in the past. A lot of things were not explicitly said but could be assumed. Also, despite how annoying the whole scenario was, I think story telling was done well in the novel.
Lmao, no issues. I just wanted someone to vouch for the writing. Tbh, I don't want to spend hours reading a novel that just frustrates me if it has no substance. But if the characters are complex, i can give it a try.
Tbf, I don't think ML and MC have a questionable age diff. Bc when they kissed for the firat time, ML is about to complete his middle school. Then both ML and MC present and ML is shipped off abroad to high school. Their budding relationship is kinda cute. But the grown ML keeps using MC as his punshing bag and keeps verbally abusing him. When he was a child atleast ML treated him like a person but now even he calls him names. I liked that MC called out ML's hypocrisy when he got angry that people called MC slut and said a bunch of disgusting shit about him while ML himself was saying the same things while having sex with MC. I see MC struggling to not fall into the old pattern with ML yet he still keeps kind of expecting something from ML and fair bc ML is likely the only person who has been nice and loved MC so far in his life. But ML is just trash if he knew Harold was touching on MC and he still years later feels it is MC who will sleep with anyone and had "Harold's child".
The issue I have with the story is, MC does have a lot of dependency on ML bc he hasn't really lived out of Delight except for the 5 years when he was pregnant and had Angela. That again created some emotional dependency on Angela from MC which is why Angela always tries to gauge his mood and keeps asking if he is ill or something happened. I think the dependency is also what made MC marry ML and accept that deal. Bc frankly if he was thinking of Angela, he should have known the way people treat him at Delight could also be the way they treat Angela, and bringing Angela could subject her to that toxic enviornment at Delight.
It is sad and concerning that he lived for 5 years outside and still didn't have one reliable person he could take shelter with once his house burned.
You also have to take into account that for a lot of his growth, he had no access to the outside world (the only time he did was when ml snuck him out for a short time when he was in high school age). He also had no access to schooling. Harold was completely grooming him to be his omega. Then all of a sudden the misunderstanding happens and he becomes homeless while pregnant. He was near death during the time he was homeless. After Angela was born, she was the only reason for him to continue living. These things are all part of the plot and things that shape him as a character. You have to remember that these were not ideal characters and they are heavily shaped by their circumstance. Also, I don’t defend the ml. He definitely took things wayyy to far. But I do sympathize with the mc.
I kinda understand where ML is coming from. He complete trusted MC, even when photos of him with other men existed, visits from many men in their house while ml was at work, he immediately believed mc words about harold, but when he show his own lover naked with his father on bed laughing at his face it broke him. Imagine seeing the love of your life that you are getting married, having sex with your own father. i personally am 100 sure i would call them names too. After that he never got together with anyone and he couldnt trust people. I feel sorry for him that he felt in the lie and in the end with his actions he tormented mc.
Spoilers and trigger warning (s**cide attempt)….
So from what I remember, once he is able to build back his trust and finds out all the truth, he basically starts to take revenge from each of his family members (siblings and mother) that hurt mc. The last was his mother who he tried to burn down in their family home with himself because he thought he didn’t deserve to be with the mc. Which results in the mc dragging him out of there and them finally reconciling. This happens in the last few chapters. The only problem I had with this book was that there was a lot of scenes of their life after they get together like it is in the authors other novels (kiss me liar, etc.). It just ends.
Through his revenge time, he kinda just feels guilty and try’s to connect well with his daughter and mc. I believe he was planning to leave everything to them once he’s gone.
One thing I really liked about his character was that he never mean to mc’s daughter. He always tried to create a bond with her even when she didn’t really like him and he thought she was his dad’s child with mc.
If anyone remembers anything I missed or got wrong. Do correct it. It’s been a while since I read it.
Yeah he basically works on ruining his whole family. Sets the house alight and planned to take himself and his mother with it. Pre redemption though he's pretty crazy.
Isolated MC on an island even though he knows he ain't pregnant.away from his young daughter. When the MC runs literally chases him down. Super super super jealous type. Lots of mon com
I was looking forward to the movie and I'm yet to watch it. The comments however are making me feel hesitant. Do they not end up together? What is this osh about him sleeping with some random dude? Does it happen in the movie too? Is the movie true to manga or they have a diff ending? Is it a happy ending? Spoil me..
I watched it yesterday and Norman doesn’t even appear in the movie. They skip all other side characters and focus on Sugiki and Suzuki. I really liked the movie and even prefer it over the manga, there is less homoerotical stuff going on, but in my opinion that is better. At the end of the movie, something good happens so don’t worry…
Honestly would have been glad if the Suzuki and Norman situation was handled differently than manga, I was sort of disappointed with it in manga. But skipping the whole of it wasn’t it. Him not appearing at all is not it. They could’ve done something different about it, or even just kept it the same. I wonder if they saw the criticism?
I liked it at the beginning, although the FL never truly clarifying to people including ogML that his behaviour is causing her issues bugged me a lot.
Also, for a plot that tried to make kind of commentary how other characters are villainzed for ML and FL to have a happy ending, it did the same. The plot villainized og ML and FL then about the middle we get that they are kind bound by some force that makes them behave that way, yet ogML got to ve the sacrificial lamb when he was the only charcater that had a legitimate reason to grow crooked like ML did in the og plot. Its like the author can't decide which plot trope they actually want to go with and decided to make a custom blend of sort which fell flat.
Frankly, the story would have been great if all the characters would have been rescued from the og plot influence and got a HE. Even ogFL said she'd be willing to give ogML a chance if he goes back to being how he was originally. Ferson wasn't a bad person initially the ab*se and the FL kept him limited to the number of people he can open up to. It is like once she realized she'll get killed for being friends with him she decided to save her skin, like fair but she does say she was genuinely friends with this guy then why did she make no effort to save him? She did make an effort for the ogFL who outright bullied her. Yet this guy she was childhood friends with, she started saying "I hate the ML", I mean there was no reason to but plot, which is exactly how the og plot was designed. This wasn't worth my time and ruined my mood.

Does that doc has no sense of patient privacy or something? Not only is he revealing two big pieces of personal data about his patient in front of someone he knows isn't related to the patient he is doing so in the middle of an emergency room it seems..

Yaoi logic. EVERYONE finds out the MC is an omega and pregos except the one who made him an omega and pregos.
Haha for real lol
Omg. lol
