Top grew up in a household where love was always mixed with cheating and lying, so he never really knew what real love was supposed to look like. He’d never been loved genuinely, and because of that, he didn’t even realize what he was missing. Then he met Bottom.

Bottom loved harder than anyone Top had ever seen. The kind of person who would give up everything for the people he cares about. And honestly, I think that’s what made Top so obsessed with him at first. Not because he was in love, but because he wanted that love. He wanted to be loved the way Bottom loves.
I don’t think Top even realizes he’s been waiting for Bottom’s confession this whole time. Part of him wants proof that someone could love him that much. But while he’s waiting for that, he’s slowly falling for Bottom too without noticing.

And when the voices start spreading and the factory opens, I can totally see Bottom leaving to protect Top. He’d probably say some heartbreaking bullshit like, “I was just an experiment anyway,” and disappear before Top can stop him. And I think that’s when it would finally hit Top. Not because Bottom loves him, but because he’d realize how badly he wants Bottom back. That’s when he’d understand that somewhere along the way, he fell in love too.

They better fucking give me 40 chapters of them being lovey dovey with each other after all the slow burn, miscommunication arc and angst. THEY BETTER DO.
