I can see why she’s worried about those two since the situation very much mirrors hers in ways.
One difference in it though is the fact I think he’s in a dangerous/abusive household? It’s been hinted. While he is communicating poorly to his fiancé I’m guessing he doesn’t want to risk them being close either cause A) People hurting him will hurt her or B) He’ll end up leaving his household so she’d have to find a new fiancé anyway.
Just my ideas on what he’s thinking.
Of course he’s doing a bad thing by not clearly communicating this to his fiancé.
I’m giving all the characters some slack for being teens when it comes to their communication skills and ability to handle these situations. Doesn’t mean I’m excusing it or that who is hurt needs to be okay with it, I’m just more understanding on why they feel/do these things.
I hope she gets her old body back. I don’t want this to be a case of “well old Hazel died in blah blah blah way and is happy someones living in in her place”
Like it definitely become complicated trying to get back to her OG body and how things turn out with OG Hazel coming back but u just want her old self back!
Hearing her story of when she was the hero makes me want to read stories related to the hero disappearing after the final battle.
I like the idea of the entires hero’s party being really attached to the hero (maybe even a bi harem, really obsessive friendship is good to) and the hero disappears.
Does anyone know a list that has stories along these lines or any recommendations?
you have to read “From a Knight to a Lady” or an alt name is “The Way That Knight Lives as a Lady” IT IS AMAZING!!! and it is just like this characters backstory but the story is complete and the plot is just incredible. Her previous team is obsessed with her she is basically a legend but she was betrayed that’s how she died and her closest companion is completely obsessed with her and she’s trying to keep her identity a secret but seeing them slowly figure it is just UGH so good!
I have not stopped thinking about that story since reading it it’s my favorite!! I highly recommend reading it if you haven’t yet.
Your request is literally perfectly matched for this one so you should definitley read it.
Maoyu Maoyuusha (harem) --- I liked everything about that series except the Female Knight as a harem member. It would've been perfect with just Mao. But his comrades do miss and look for him. There's a single season anime, but the manga and novel are complete. It's primarily a fantasy-centered socio-economics, though.
The Crybaby Magician's Life in Another World After Clearing the Game (BL) --- it's an epilogue style slice of life story that takes place after the demon lord subjugation. The novel is better then the manga, though both are incomplete. It's weird to rec something that's a cliffhanger but it legit made me cry, because it was both very sweet and very sad. Though the author is currently rewriting it for physical publication.
I love how the author is portraying the devotion and affection the MCs in these isekai plots usually get. Making sense of it in how people are just becoming so devoted after being helped.
Along with the fact beings who would realistically have no need to help the MC sticking to her side because she’s realistic something far more dangerous.
I’m wondering what the truth behind her nature is? Maybe humans from our world are just naturally on a higher plan of existence so that’s why they’re using the bug comparison. I’m wondering if as she gets closer to other if she’ll seem more human to them or if it’s more like her owning a bunch of pet bugs.
I was thinking this as well, it definitely has to be something about her being from our world that makes her powerful.
Also was interested in her purpose ,because its clear the church has been shady and how society there is worshipping the God there is rather twisted maybe thats what she's coming to fix in an odd eerie way.
I take issue with the fact that he lives with her presumably unsupervised while he gets help. First, he is in no condition to care for himself let alone her (that type of behavior was established and won’t be an easy fix). Second, he definitely is emotionally stunted (serious abuse will break anyone) however he did in fact abuse + neglect her and either someone moves in with them both or they live separately. Third, why was everyone letting her go to him and live with him when it wasn’t a good living situation? Sure they talked about her living with rental brother but child abuse and neglect ain’t no waiting game. That box accident could have been a very different accident if he hit that little girl hard enough.
Also, girly pop can have two brothers. Blood doesn’t mean you can’t have more family outside of it.
I love her for choosing independence, she very much seems to enjoy it. I think even before the final straw she didn’t seem interested in her fiancé cause of who he was (neither really knew eachother until they started seeing one another more often going to school) more that she liked him out of obligation from what I can tell since she talks about the paths for the future woman in her kingdom have. Nothing really outside of marriage. Is she asexual? Could she ever love him? Will she ever find someone she likes that way? I don’t know, all I do is that her happiness doesn’t involve pursuing a relationship. I want to see where she goes. I’d love to see who she meets and what she does abroad.
As for him… I just find him hilarious. Teen boy got his serving of karma. Do I understand why he made these mistakes? Yes. However, he really needs to apologize. It only been about the misunderstandings but I feel like they need to have a long conversation on how his actions hurt her (we don’t see it now but we do know some stuff about how others treated her before she stopped caring about this situation). I hope he can one day communicate properly with her and express his feelings.
I wonder if she’ll be like the woman she read in those books. Rejecting all suitors, that would be nice. I’d like to read more stories like that.
I like the dynamic he has with the two, it feels like he’s their little brother which is nice to see. The variety of relationships he has is fresh. For the maybe romance with the succubus I’m feeling unsure? Chan doesn’t seem to have those sorts of feelings from my reading of this, he seems to want to be her friend more than anything. I’d like to see it be where he rejects her and then they grow past that into being good friends. That might just be my wants though. Want to met Mother dragon though, all we know about her is how much she works really.
Another thing, I wonder if we’ll get any indepth characters that are orc or goblin. It seems we haven’t gotten any positive interactions with these groups yet (besides the orc from the exam that let Chan see their past test).
I'm personally rooting for the love story with the succubus.
You can tell that Chan is still quite weary and tired due to his past difficulties, but he's slowly opening up to people, making friends and getting used to this new life. Which undoubtedly is also quite tiring in a way, since there's so many new, intriguing and a bit scary things to see and learn. Energizing, inspiring but tiring due to constant changes.
I feel like the romance and feelings will come once he is ready (healed enough) to take a step forward and accept love. Which is why, to me, the love arc would be an inclination of his well-being.

I feel that little inner thought the researcher had about MC and Team Lead look potentially related is important. I’m curious what that’s about.
