What's this story even about! 37 chapters in and im not understanding shit they are both after! At least Red Candy had a good foundation which made the story make sense. Enzo being a crazy hot fucker is whats saving the story.
How is it unclear? It literally says in the first chapter his mission is to find deeper information on the consortium to sell to buyers. The target is Enzo because he is the leader of the consortium. So he sends Uno to get information. Uno does indeed get information and hes about to sell it in chapter 37. Everything was literally outlined chapter 1
It started off with a great plan. What I have problem with is how it was executed to get the job done.I understand Rian's reason (honey trap stuff) but Why Enzo sought out Rian seemed pretty unclear to me. And that thing with the lady (enzo's grandfather's mistress) was also cloudy. Why is it that Enzo needed Rian's help to get someone like her, probably on who he could've put his hands on easily. If he is the leader of the consortium why is he seeking out people of his own group!
Well, obviously if you have a clear idea of the story till now, you can definitely tell me more as i have a poor understanding of the story.
Enzo wants something about the murdered members of consortium, is what I understood in recent chapters. But as his intentions on hiring Rian for what is it that specifically he requires from Rian isn't clear to me, so their conversation about work pretty much goes over my head except for enzo's psycho sexual behaviour over Rian*__*
Anyhow, I guess we will see what's the story's got to serve next.
Enzo’s goals are intentionally kept in the dark at this point in the story, so some of your confusion is justified. This is how I see it so far:
1. Enzo needs the Connector to meet with certain people in secret without relying on his mafia connections.
2 Rian takes this chance to fill in as the Connector.
3. Rian piques Enzo’s interest and that’s the start of his obsession.
4. Bunch of stuff happens, Enzo learns that Rian isn’t the real Connector, but since Rian is continuing to offer to work for him *and* he’s actually competent, *and* Enzo is already obsessed with him, Enzo decides to keep him around.
5. At this point Enzo’s obsession isn’t waning, he’s really enjoying the thrill, and he’s hellbent on keeping Rian at he’s side regardless of what it takes. He knows that Rian is working against him, but as we’ve seen in this chapter, he fucking loves it because it gives him a challenge. His sexual perversion is clouding his judgement to the point that it can be his ultimate downfall.
Ultimately I think it just boils down to the fact that Enzo is straight up a complete pervert and Rian recognizes this and is using it to his advantage (remember “he’s proper stiff for me”) lmao. If Enzo was a normal, well adjusted businessman with mafia connections then none of Rian’s antics would have worked. He’d probably have been murdered and chucked in the river as soon as he blew his cover.
Spoiler
Its ML's father who hired MC to kill ML. Whole novel i actually thought it was his stepmom or his older step bro. Lol! That disclose was quite fascinating. MC killed ML's father with an axe. Slassshed. ML was so proud lol!
It's been a while since I read the novel so someone cmiiw
- MC's undercover would be busted
- The original plan (kill ML) was proceed as usual but ML didn't get killed, just hurt a bit
- MC ran away for the 1st time, felt betrayed cuz ML wanted to kill him too
- ML threatened him so MC had to come back
- ML hired MC and the Wang bros to do some jobs. This was when Wang bros knew about MC and ML true relationship
- MC and Wang bros ran away for the 2nd time after doing their job, ML caught them
- Their first sex was more to non-con. Basically afterwards their relationship progressed from enemies to lovers
- There'll be more side characters in the future for the plot
- Just when they were lovey-dovey, ML's father caught them.
- ML said just to take him alone but MC insisted to tag along
- Both of them got caught. MC threw an axe to ML's father but he didn't die on the spot. The father would die later at the hospital.
I think that's all for the main story. It is a happy ending. ML is a freak/crazy and down so bad for MC. Maybe the quite uncomfortable part is the non-cons. There's another good plot in the side story too. I would say the story is really good, maybe the manhwa is even better.
Read this a bit, before & left it. Came again again today just to skim a bit. What an oddly questionable story. The ML is a deeply misogynistic character. Some of his dialogues are very uncomfortable and questionable. He is portrayed as a savior of the MC that's why most of his characterisation of deep self absorbed opinion stamped upon other characters are somehow being ignored. Then again the FML is the kind of character to tolerate the ML's character. Stupid, whiny 5 year old kid behaviour for a men to be her saviour. If it was that much at least that wouldn't have been that bad but the FML's charaterisation is absolutely rubbish. She has got a huge screen time in the whole story but she is not present to centralize or highlight her own presence in her own story that will make people take interest in her. Idk how to explain it. Mostly the ML's actions are what is the story's grip is about.
Japanese straight manhwas(a lot of them) deeply dissapoints me. Coming from a 3rd world country(as world says it) where misogyny is pretty prevalent Japan sometimes comes of as much much more misogynistic to me through their mangas. Can't believe loads of them are written by women!!

People here reading this story should not fall for every spoiler they see here. Some of them are very inaccurate and very deviated from actual plot.
Actual and a pretty good spoiler can be found on novelupdates forum.
The story is actually very well written. I was continuously blown up some of its plot points.
What is it called?
Same name as the manhwa
Are the novel and the manhwa really that different?
Not really. I haven’t finished the whole story. The novel is written a bit depressing & heavy, the manhwa is much lightweight, at least till now, I would say
