nah bruh, i saw on some r/otomeisekai thread a great explanation of why jeanette illicits such a response from readers, but overall none of it was her fault and her 'naivety' is appropriate for a child her age. neither did she receive love and proper care but she turned out kind anyways.
asahi is just straight up narcissistic and selfish. a lot of the decisions she made hinged on the fact that she EXPECTS other people to lover her as fact. and unlike jeanette who timidly wants to be part of a family, asahi doesn't care for ruri's welfare as a person but as a possession.
