There's still no Korean update (nothing since June 17) so I'm assuming we'll be waiting about a month for the official translation. So, hopefully, end of October, huh? *sigh*
It’s themes and characters, specifically the main villain… it’s such a tragic downfall for her. Of course she deserved it, but the true conclusion of her end is so sad :,)

This is a prime example of how it’s toxic that SERVES the plot and characters! I’m so sick of characters being assholes just ‘cause with NO substance! This is done so deliciously I’m strapped in for the ride no matter how painful it will be :’)
I love this story… a lot of the comments I’ve seen are disappointed at the direction… but I’ll say this … good writing will serve a purpose and if you consider all that has been established beforehand it makes sense (despite how messed up it may be but that’s fiction for you!)
This isn’t a simple story that will get a happy ending right away (I mean considering the ‘difficult to read’ translations and the overarching political plot..)
Not me witnessing the literacy crisis on the yaoi site… I get that it may be folks’ second language and all but this story is really solid and if you set the smut aside it can really improve your comprehension skills overall
Anyways love the plot it’s getting super juicy and reaching closer to home (inner courts rather than the scions on the borders)… the young king being yeonjo’s cousin was something I speculated way before since it’s common irl for officials to be linked family wise to the royal family etc
It’s my second language as well, and I do find certain words less common as they are used in more formal settings, or perhaps it is just to aid in picturing the richness of the story and the specific historical context. I’ll definitely re-read after finishing reading the whole manwha (or maybe when this second season ends) to add some of these words to my personal dictionary, because you won’t use many to speak, but you will most likely use them to write, and knowledge is always welcomed ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
