The MC will have "new flesh" with yin energy? That smells like male pregnancy. Please tell me I'm wrong and I'm overanalyzing; otherwise I'm dropping it. Like, it will suck to read a manhwa again where the author drops male pregnancy in the middle of the manhwa, AGAIN. Like, I read 55 chapters of this.
His flesh will be made anew. Meaning that he will get a new body for himself. Since his body is weak and crumbling, he needs a new one to live. It doesn't mean that a new body (child) will be made in him. Of course, idk if there will be mpreg or not. Just that this particular line isn't talking about
My bad, I misinterpreted your comment. Yeah it very well could go that way, I also had the thought the author would give his new body a uterus or something. And the raws and translations come out simultaneously so there's no way to know ahead of time sorry. It might be better to marinate for a bit? Until it's clear whether or not it's gonna get mpreggy
So are you telling me—(I'm sorry, guys, I will use the top/bottom thing—the MC and ML don't work on this one because the top is the MC, and you just keep getting things confused)—that the bottom was staring so hard at those man arms and still won't call himself gay or bi or something? Do the authors even know what these words mean? Like, I'm sorry, but if you like a huge man's arm, then you are gay or bi, aka you find men sexually appealing. It doesn't matter if he "is the only man. " Never mind the sexual assault thing, but since the bottom is doing the SA, no one gives a shit, I guess. I can't believe I was waiting for this for a whole ass year. Such a disappointment. I was looking forward to it so much; BL with Top as MCs is so rare to find .
I stopped reading at chapter one. At first, I thought the story was interesting; it would be interesting if the manhwa tackled subjects about the lover's death and saving a kid from suicide and its results, but instead, it's turned into Dear Teddy Bear V2, at least Dear Teddy Bear had a bad ending for the ML. I don't think it will happen the same with this one. I think it's a wasted potential.
It's cute. But are you telling me the ML remembered the guy's username and him having earrings just by watching him once, while he said he didn't even enjoy the stream? huh? It would have made more sense if the author had made him bi or gay and he just happened to like his streams, but I don't know why authors avoid this kind of plot like a plague. It's always because "he just happened to stumble on it once." "This is not the first time an author is guilty of that.
Finally, Twink x Twink. They are so rare to find in BL; for some reason people keep complaining about twinks in BL and make it their whole personality how they hate twinks because of "heteronormativity" when, in fact, the men that BL can't get rid of are the big masculine men. But whatever, I'm not surprised; feminine men always get shit. Anyway, I'm getting off topic. I like the stories where ML is being a loser and lives miserably but has a turnaround to fix their life, it's weirdly comforting You know, stories like those give some hope, and it feels like you are not alone. I have some hope for this story.
While I have seen some gay frat bros here and there, and to be honest, I don't believe in stereotypes, but feminine gay men are a huge part of the gay community, and people trying to erase them or remove them from media is just super shitty, I can't lie. I love femininity too, and I don't understand why it's so hated or why it's shamed.
Right? I literally don't understand why it's quirky to love two masculine men together when they love men anyway. BLs with two masculine men It's literally evened out with BLs that have twinks, and I literally don't understand when it's enough for these people. At this rate, they just want to erase twinks from BL and have one type of body, and it is men with steroids, literally forcing body standards; it's literally not woke.
Exactly! It's not enough for them to have their manhwa and manga - they want to erase any other type! Every time I'm reading something with a pretty bottom there are people in the comments saying how bad it is that he is a twink and even saying that they look like children (which they most certainly don't - they look like real life men that don't hit the gym every day that's all!). People commenting how they are "not real men" too, which is a whole new layer of homophobia
He is literally more fem-leaning than masc-leaning; he is slim, wears makeup, has long hair, and uses mascara to make his eyelashes longer. What does he need more of? Wear eyelashes and dresses to finally see him as a feminine? While MC is just being short, he wears normal clothes; he wears no makeup, but still that person says nothing about him. Weird, I think that person is just in denial that they like feminine men, and they don't know.
So the ML killed/zombified a guy while that guy's 3-4-year-old son was behind the door, and the ML decided to tie that guy by the neck on that damn door, the door that kid was behind. The kid is now without a father. Holy shit, the ML is a psychopath. It's beyond me how anyone can root for this guy to get a happy ending. And the more messed-up thing is if the author swept this under a rug and made the kid grow with the ML, That would be fucking disgusting. I'm fine with psychology stuff, but the author needs to treat it right instead of making it kids' play and romanticizing it.
Well, I wish I could say this in the comments instead of topics, but whatever. wasted premise, Instead of the author letting their characters' relationship develop, they resorted to sexual assault instead. Like, are BL fans THAT horny that they can't read the first 10 chapters without sex, so the author needs to think of a way for the characters to do sex in the first 10 chapters? And most of the time they are raping each other because it doesn't make sense why one side would consent to it when he never thought that he would be with a man anyway because, God forbid we have two sides who had experience with men. And for people who are celebrating pegging, just read Josei; there's plenty of pegging representation there, I don't know why people are clapping for this, but I get it, The mangago tagging system sucks; they wouldn't let people find stuff easier. Also, the "bisexuality representation is so rare in BL" comment is not true, Maybe it was true two years ago, but I'm seeing plenty of it these days, so I don't know what you are talking about. I really liked the first 5 chapters, but after the hostess club thing? It's all gone downhill for me. It's really interesting to see people barely talk about the story or premise but instead magnify the pegging and bisexuality representation, making it seem like it's a big deal and never done before when it's done many, many times before.
Actually had to dig to find your comment because I too had the same reaction. The standards in this genre are so low I genuinely cannot believe a 9.0 rating and have to either read comments which aren’t even represent the story as well at times, or take the chance and read chapter myself only to experience yet again another romanticized assault. It’s truly disappointing that this what is considered “great”.
Well, now I feel bad for the prime minister. Why do authors give sad backstories to the villains? Whhhhhhhhhhhy? It just makes me feel bad for them. Anyway, these last two chapters just show the author can go back to their old art style, but they chose not to do so. I'm not a kind af person that complains about characters being twinkified because the more twinks for me in BL, the better, but I just find it interesting. I really thought the art changes because the art changed naturally for the authors, and they can't help it.

Holy moly, it took me so much time to realize this is the same artist of The Stranger in the Mirror. Omg, such disappointment. I liked that work so much. I know she got so much hate for The Stranger in the Mirror; that's why she dropped it, but she dropped THAT and not this? Really???? Can I say how much I hate when it comes to psychology in BL, it's always rape? It's just unoriginal, and I'm just tired of it, like, I know when I see a psychological tag in BL, I know it will be mostly about rape. And I just don't understand why people feel so strong about this one. There is barely any story to it, and the character just keeps getting raped 90% of the manhwa. Also, the artist seems more like she sexualizes it than trying to make people uncomfortable about it.
Not hate but story of stranger in the mirror is based in china since they made chinese people and govt military bad also korea has bad history with china so many people attacked artist , but artist wanted to continue working on that work but that work goes into more dark politics which hurted people sentiments ig so she has dropped that and she picked another political based storyline "barge in" which is set in korea so there won't be any problem for it.
Author enjoys this. Ain't no way they don't
Oh. That's why the art is similar
Yeah, I know; it's just that this one is way problematic. I don't think the artist wanted to complete the stranger in the mirror because she herself said that. I mean, it makes sense it's brought her a lot of problems, but it's nut that this one didn't get the hate, 90% of the story is rape. Like, people keep saying it's just fiction when it comes to rape, but God forbid an author make something political in their work. THAT's the line that they can't cross.
Politics is actually dirty we can't sugarcoat what artist made is like she made it based on north Korea more and many people with money in kroew would want to read it you won't believe it's best selling and top on ridibooks english audience doesn't read it or doesn't even know it but korea they love to read it a lot i actually can guess cuz artist did god work to show the expressions of characters that show they as creepy disgusting as ugly as possible except ryujin. Beside hime everyone are same time. Stranger in the mirror she wanted to continue it but her company told her to call off so what she can do? ..
But she said it was her least favourite work that she worked on, so she dropped it; it's on her final note. Read it yourself. except if she changed to "actually the publisher made me drop it." I don't know why you keep explaining her position on this, like I agree with you three times by saying, "I understand why she dropped it." It's just beyond me why that one got her shit, but this didn't. I know you are saying, 'But the author made them make creepy faces,' but just look how many people are bookmarking the rape scenes. Those scenes are clearly made to be sexualised. I don't know how you don't see it? Do I think that we should ban rape from fiction? No, I'm against censorship, but it's hypocritical to make authors censor themselves when it comes to politics, but when it comes to sexualising rape, it's fine and dandy.
I read artist"s side not from stranger in the mirror and she was disappointed to drop story she wanted to draw very beautiful scene from novel but couldn't i don't know why you are hating on artist but for me shin is disgusting after knowing his character so for me he is creepy and disgusting... Even if we know rape happens in fiction plot it's not mean that we should always put everything in reality ... What I m only trying to tell that it sell a lot in korea compared to English reading audience and I won't even defend this story cuz it actually sucks except ryujin cuz he suffered a lot ... Since I read whole novel I m still traumatized if hating it can make you stop reading it then do cuz I personally have hate or like with it and i actually respect artist for showing human bad sides in dystopia.... I hope you got my point rather than attacking me
I genuinely didn't attack you; I tried to be nice about it. Maybe I forgot she said that? I don't know... Also, I know it might surprise you, but I don't hate the artist; I'm more mad at the people who made her drop it. I just found it hypocritical that they found a problem with that one but not this one. Actually, I'm grateful that she brought "Stranger in the Mirror" to life. Her art was actually so good that it was suited the manhwa; it's just sad that it got dropped.
Sometimes countries ties play important roles south korean doesn't have good history with japan and china that's why people found it problematic compared to "barge in" which is set in korea and more likely north korea like .... I also like stranger in the mirror, but she might love to ti work in challenging stories compared to cliches her art is absolutely beautiful but get limited cuz of stories she works in. But i see her instagram account and X some extra art are good , i know you didn't even if u diss or hate this story i don't care cuz it shouldn't be anyone's frvt in the first place lol so it's alright but her art is unique and shows characters side which most artist has hard time of showing "expressions" and detailing tooo.
