Ugh this chapter really goes to show why I love their dynamic and how realistic they really are, I think these lovey chapters we’ve been getting in between the angsty ones really help show how much they do love each other and how much garam does want to put their past aside and love heejae to the fullest but as a pianist someone ruining your love for the instrument and pushing you past your limits in a short increment of time DOES fuck you up really bad all while garam was going through what was happening with youngjo and naeun, and heejae almost seems to be using his love for garam as a form of escapism right now, I see it as Heejae thinks now that he’s put what happened with his old manager to rest for good he doesn’t see the gravity of what he did to garam(him not remembering the scar in 199) and it makes me feel for Heejae but it also INFURIATES ME, because obviously he feels uncomfortable with the way he treated garam and let’s not forget how big their age gap is, the gap itself doesn’t bother me but it does add that power dynamic into the mix which gives even more reason as to why I think heejae and garam need a breakup arc (BUT PLS GET BACK TOGETHER) Heejae needs to figure out on his own how to give garam the apology he truly deserves (plus we get some good groveling from Heejae ahh) I love Heejae bc I feel like he’s just such a good representation of feeling disconnected from other people, he’s literally a musical genius from birth basically and (in my opinion) probably doesn’t understand why you’re average person doesn’t think the way he does (plus he’s mega rich and a nepo baby) he’s also pretty privileged with only added to his mindset until garam came along. Plus these are habits that Heejae had never even considered breaking for forty years until now so I’m trying to have a bit of patience with him. ANYWAYS I love NME bc it helped my burnout with my piano and now I’m back to playing classical, I love sage for translating this masterpiece and I love all the readers. I just wanted to over analyze so this is basically for no reason but that’s okay (⌒▽⌒)
