Jiwhan being upset over soo-young cracking the present he gave him represents the larger aspect of their relationship still being stuck in the past.
Jiwhan forces the ipad on soo-young to make him more comfortable in the boredom he perceives soo-young to have. Just as how in the past Jiwhan force’s his help onto Soo-young because he perceives Soo-young as weak. Both these gestures, in Jiwhan’s eyes, are an act of love he reserves only for Soo-young, and Jiwhan isn’t able to see why Soo-young can’t see that.
Soo-young cracking the ipad is not a refusal of Jiwhan’s love, since he uses it beforehand. But it’s a refusal of the portion of Jiwhan’s love that serves to isolate him. The scene serves to show how Soo-young is trying to stop the past from repeating (and Jiwhan who keeps trying to repeat what they had), but the nature of their relationship is too stuck in the past for any of them to see the change they want.
yall biznaches who keep talking about the start of this series need to listen to what soo-young has been constantly saying about Jiwhan: he has always been like this.
Give the first couple of chapters a re-read, focus on Jiwhan’s words and expressions. He is the exact same. So yall can stop being shocked every fucking chapter that jiwhan turned out like this.
Jiwhan is PERFECT!!! Him saying he wants soo-young to only do what he says….I screamed in happiness. I hope soo-young listens to him…I want to see him accept everything jiwhan gives and wants.
I also love the way the author make the progression of Jiwhan. If u read the story from the start, you truly realize he was always like this.
Soo-young loves jiwhan, but he hold so much hate for him too. I’m excited to see which feeling wins.

Soo-young wearing shorts around all day is so seductive!! I hope Jiwhan never takes down the cameras >//<
