Kloff abusing Aeroc was not simply for the sake of avenging the loss of Raphiel and the baby. It was the fact his dignity was trampled on, his homophobia (alpha and alpha), his ‘perfect life’ with the ‘perfect omega’ being ruined.
I think that when Kloff mentioned loving Raphiel, that is him trying to gaslight himself into believing he loved Raphiel. He is making himself go insane by being a coward, he doesn’t want to believe that Aeroc died either.
“He looked so much like Raphiel, and it made my heart race…” (Ch 21) — This isn’t a sign that he loved Raphiel, he is just traumatized to lose someone he did somewhat care for the sake of his own perfect life. It’s a parallel to all of his true thoughts where he compares Raphiel to Aeroc.
Kloff and Aeroc are fated mates. They could never be separate from one another. If Kloff had continued the so called perfect life with Raphiel in 1st timeline, he would have probably abused him and hurt him.
Chapter 32 is a big foreshadowing of that life, where he describes an imagination of a life with Raphiel. And how tranquil…but dull it would be. When he stood up, Raphiel flinched as if he expected something bad.
Then Kloff saw Aeroc in the same scared state as Raphiel, and was frightened. It truly shows his level of obsession and love for Aeroc compared with Raphiel.
He was genuinely traumatized to lose a partner with a baby, but he also disgustingly took the opportunity to tie Aeroc down with him. He made it seem like this was avenging Raphiel, when in reality he was fulfilling his lustful and suppressed desires. It’s not that Kloff didn’t care for Raphiel, but he clearly did not care enough.
In chapter 27, Kloff (season 2/2nd timeline) wonders why he feels the need to attack and strangle Aeroc, this definitely confirms that he genuinely cared for Raphiel somewhat and was traumatized. And also his genuine hatred towards Aeroc for living in his heart and making him have desires for Aeroc, an alpha. He hated that!
Also the third time line Kloff states how he never loved Raphiel and was in denial the whole time. I believe, as far as my memory goes. Correct me if wrong!

Also I heard that apparently Kloff would’ve never been happy with Raphiel anyways even if the bad stuff didn’t happen. That Kloff would’ve been violent if there was no Aeroc, that he would be violent towards Raphiel. Is this true? Why? How come. If this is just a theory, it makes sense because in chapter 32, Kloff of 2nd timeline just imagines how his life with Raphiel would be tranquil and dull. The moment he stood up in that imagination, Raphiel got scared. Then Aeroc’s face showed up.
Also in chapter 27, Kloff (2nd timeline) wonders why he feels the need to attack and strangle Aeroc. Is this because he genuinely felt sad and angry that he lost Raphiel and the baby (or just the baby)? Was he genuine friends with Raphiel? Is this ever explained.
I can’t understand Kloff. But I do know he has never loved Raphiel romantically. And more confirmation (ch 46) where he just says he chose Raphiel because he wanted to settle.

Yeah I kinda figured this was the case. He extremely resented him because he lost what could’ve been a “safe and acceptable” family, his partner and baby. But he also resented himself for still loving Aeroc regardless.
