I keep trying to defend Ercella but it keeps getting harder. Despite coming back after living once and regretting, I find it hard to believe she was once over thirty. It seems as if she’s still an eighteen year old who just adopted a fifteen year old son. And I would’ve rather she apologize first before trying to get closer to her son. I understand that she was quite young and easily influenced but her maturity level doesn’t seem to be at the level that a woman in her thirties would be. I’m just a little disappointed so far with the story but I’ll stay because I read the spoilers
But it's normal for some people to not age mentally. I know some people who are 40 year old with kids and still act like an 18 year old to the point where they only have teenage friends because it's impossible to talk with people of the same age...

I wanted a badass female lead not a bitchy and rude one. I honestly hated the original princess because she was so rude and arrogant, no wonder her stepmother wanted to kill her. Unless context is revealed to show why the og princess was such a bitch then I’m still going to hate her. Rn, I’m hoping the mc/demon is better.
I wouldn't be surprised if it was something simple like the new Queen had a hand in her mother's death.
