The Mc isn't black, I'm pretty sure he's Native American and white. And yeah there are stories involving slaves, but they at least had the decency to make it completely set in a fictional world that didn't have lasting repercussions that still occur to this very day. Not to say those stories are any better due to be fiction, but I don't have stories from my grandparents stating what they faced in those not real stories
