Korean manga starts off so good but somewhere towards the middle, they start making the plot overly complicated to create more twists and turns. And before you know it, it turns into unreadable slop. This is still good but I can see the cracks forming.

A lot of these power fantasy manwhas fall apart BECAUSE they all choose to make their mcs emotionless weirdos that only care about the “big revenge” or “being the strongest” However the result is that their characters ultimately feel flat. The mc of this story has had literally next to no character growth at all since he first came to this world. When the only thing that drives the story forward is the mc becoming stronger and stronger it eventually becomes boring asf. This story at least has put a modicum of effort to flesh out their side characters a bit by giving some of them some backstory chapters but they honestly still feel flat. That’s the main issue with k-power fantasy manhwas. The character-building is SO ASS. So many are just boring ass rude “i dont care about anyone and hehehe look how overpowered and cool and strong i am” type masters. The mc is never in any true danger, every fight is just power-up fodder. It all feels so damn EMPTY. (And yet I still read all 160 chapters damn. I need to go on a detox. My brain is primed for slop atm)

I kept reading that one cause the art was fucking delicious but damn I feel like it’s worse for me rn cause I read this manhwa now immediately after having finished the absolute MASTERPIECE in characterwork that is ~Setting Sun, Dazzled Eyes~ anything else just pales in comparison. I have had a taste of what REAL WRITING can look like and now I’ve developed standards T_T

Some do, but mostly they do it because a. They want advertising for their own site or b. They already paid their translators and staff so they don't want to waste the money. Also it's why you will sometimes see some of them intentionally update less and less so you go to their sites. Not everyone does this on here but I've seen it happen luckily other groups exist and they can pick them up
but if they know another group is translating it, why pay their staff to continue translating the same manga? It seems like a waste of time and they'll probably get less views than if they translated another managa

I was in complete denial when reading through the ending and then fell into a post-finale depression.
Still, the story got its place in my heart, I just change the finale in my mind. Apparently there are a few fanfics in Japanese, the fans were so sad about the finale that made their own. Couldn’t find them tho ;v;

Probably bcuz it happened within the guild and under their responsibity. I mean yeah its not fully their responsibilty as theyre just members but getting trauma outside the guild is different from getting it within the guild ya know? And the guild operates like a small community where everyone knows each other so i guess they felt responsible for having one of their members get abused when their guild is supposed to be a safe space away from the trauma.
They became adventurers to run away from whatever theyre dealing with and the guild is their safe space. But then you hear a member was abused in the space where its supposed to be safe..? You would feel a little responsible.. especially when the abuser is from the guild master himself, who you're supposed to trust implicitly to stop bad things happening within the guild.
