I can totally understand why you would break up with a person like that. It doesn’t seem like you can ever let your guard down, it’s always take and never give (or just crumbs) and the trust issues, damn. You have to be 100% into that and not just because you love your partner or you’ll get tired of it. Love is not enough for this. But maybe I‘m thinking too much or this is not my cup of tea. This type of play, occasionally, that’s hot, but basically every day, no pause? I feel sorry for the top.

Why do you care and why only now and not when his life was in danger. It doesn’t matter if he is his sugar baby or his boyfriend. He was all by himself. Great story. But I don’t like the ending.
MC will end up with BOTH of them.
Gwen and Amon tried to kill each each other, they both almost died, Gwen was closer to death. MC was so devasted and depressed that he dissipated to kill himself. Then he was invisible and Amon and Gwen realized they have to tolerate each other to bring him back to life. So in the end MC dates them both.
I don’t like the ending because it is incredibly unsatisfying for me. The relationship with Amon is just unhealthy. It reminds me of an abused partner that can’t let the other one go although they hate them or stockholm syndrome.
This is literally just Stockholm Syndrome. He treats him so bad - kidnapps him, rapes him - that even basic human decency - like not raping him when he is sick or feeding him - seems like kindness to him. Bet in 10 chapters he is going to think this is „love“.
I really liked the Story idea with a hermaphrodite snail shifter, but there is no actual plot or any redeeming qualities of the ML. Then again: Sharks are really ruthless with their females, it’s basically paralyzing, biting and gangraping her. So the rapist character is actually pretty fitting for him.
But it’s not like this world is well thought out, so only taking the rapist part from the mating ritual seems unnecessary. Just leave it at the double genitals. This COULD HAVE BEEN good.
