Tbh I don't like the blondie either as an alternative option for the mc. In this situation only suitable outcome for the mc is to stay single of find someone decent.

Since modern romance often ties "love" to physical desire, people tend to forget that in literature (considering this manhwa is an adaptation of a novel with the same title), first love can also be about pure admiration, appreciating someone's beauty, or even a meaningful moment that leaves a deep impression without any sexual desire at all. And that's exactly what we see here. It's still valid to call it first love. You just need to understand that love can take many different forms, and not project or equate your own understanding or views of love onto what Yuri meant when he called it his "first love," because that will obviously make you feel icky. If you still find it creepy because Yuri was 25 while Xinlu was 12, that's exactly why POV matters. We get to see how Yuri himself describes those feelings, and based on what's actually shown in the story, they don't fit the medical criteria or legal definition of pedophilia either.

First of all, you are rude which was uncalled-for and unnecessary. Second of all, I don't know where you grew up but the whole situation and conversation xinlu and yuri were having about yuri's first love and sexual desires/experiences and him recalling a 12-year-old child is a bit creepy.

I get what you mean and I was aware of that when I commented. I'm not dense not to understand that what yuri felt for xinlu was not romantic attraction let alone sexual and it more precisely could categorised as adoration and admiration for objective beauty. Yuri has also never acted on his feelings for xinlu and it was not romantic up until last couple of chapters. I think I got misunderstood a bit bcs I do think that the story is beautiful, yuri as a partner is to die for and his admiration for xinlu untainted by any physical desires (not that I think it's wrong to have physical desires towards other consenting adults, on the contrary if anything) is a breath of fresh air in this genre. That's why I won't drop this manhwa, because I genuinely like it. However, as a reader, I think (I am entitled to have an opinion after all) that bringing up that adoration of a child during last chapters could have been avoided and the story would have been even better. It still is a nice read though.

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we shouldn’t forget the facts either:=) I’m not defending anything that’s wrong, but when I’ve found the facts and people still think Yuri is creepy like that, I’ll try to explain to them that he isn’t. Maybe the author wants us to think more deeply, because I don’t think this story is just meant to entertain us. Even though it’s short, it’s full of meaning... It’s truly beautiful. The author wanted to create something different from the kinds of stories we often come across I really love RAGA. I haven’t found another MC as beautiful as Yuri, with such emotional stabilityヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~

Anyways, there's actually a very good reason why it's in the story. That moment (seeing a stranger stare at him with admiration as he lost consciousness) is a major reason why he looks down on others so much. It didn't just make him hate water, it inadvertently made Xinlu someone who utilises his looks to get what he wants, sees people akin to bugs, hates when people stare at him etc. etc.

So you should think of it as something that affected Xinlu more. Meaning, Yuri has literally been the most influential thing in his life; past, present AND future. And I personally think it's beautiful how layered their connection is.

The drowning sequence also sets the motifs that shape their story from beginning to end; I seriously can't emphasise enough how important the imagery of water and flowers are to them.

The novel makes all this more clear, and it's worth reading if you ever feel like it.

Exactly.. idk why people mistake Yuri..Yuri doesn't really wanna pounce Xinlu or something he just admires him. How would he have had impure thoughts seeing younger Xinlu.
