This is basically a story where you watch someone so mentally hinged in their toxic world that the one UNhinged starts to crumble, which is an interesting take on the usual toxic bullshit we usually see. At some point, you start to question who's more unhinged when you see how the mc/bottom acts up in the last chapter.
I can't feel bad for any of these mfs though, they're the ashes to the urn for each other, and it ended at a good point. Any longer and it would've felt like Jinx and Stalking Killing's ugly retarded baby.
While I agree the seme/top is where he wants to be NOW, the unnecessary, painfully long flashback madeit clear that he WASN'T where he wanted to be. If you're reading this before starting, I recommend skipping to either chap 52 or 51 when the flashback starts. The flashback ends on one of these chapters and the rest of said chapter continues with the present.
The motives for these characters were so shallow, that it was hard to root for any of them, which isn't bad don't get me wrong! I like lighthearted, comedic stories with low stakes; however, this story tried to be something intense and subtle at the same time. Mc wallows by himself, regrets by himself, and thinks he's leading the relationship to this and that direction by himself... for what? I understand that it's for the sake of the plot, but when the leads ultimately become happy together, mc becomes self destructive and tries to end the relationship constantly instead of saying what's on his mind. I can let this slip by if this were a manhwa deserving of the emotional weight this mc brings, but it isn't. Every mistake or bad decision he makes goes completely unpunished and the only one suffering is the ml, who loves this asshole endlessly for no real reason.
I did enjoy the episodes as they slowly became more loving, but it was rough from start to finish and even worse in the middle when their already known past was revealed to be as shitty as it sounded. If not MORE shitty because we're in the ml's pov there!
In short, this was the most bogus story ever, and the ml deserves an mc with real character development. If I WANTED to watch a twink bully and abuse the fuck out of a pathetic puppy himbo, I would've just went to the nearest beach done it myself ʕʘ‿ʘʔ
I adore pathetic, yearning, obsessed, possessive but only in a self destructive way tops, but holy shit this guy isn't even yandere-ish or purely batshit for the love of the game, he's js traumatized as fuck and all he gets is juicy booty
Ik that mc is handling him lovingly and is arguably good at calming him down with dat saucy bussy, but SHIT!! Boy has ONE dream of having a good life and has a meltdown cuz life was too good and he got so jealous of himself and the thought of his boo thang preferring the "better, loved version" of him, I'm crine
Also sad that we didn't get more baby moments, but it was a cute read overall. Defo recommend if you're not around family and want something to read without having to get too invested
Reading this just to reminisce about bato
