The "plot" is kinda dumb so far and nothing is explained properly. Like did he not realize the guy with inhumane blue eyes that clearly used black magic is the demon with freaky blue eyes ? Did a contract was formed or not ? MC is so busy insulting the demon he summoned that he never confirm if any kind of contract was made or if he just summoned a sex demon for the sake of porn.
If he has the memories of the original duke how does he not know to maintain the weather spell and why doesn't he see the pink hair girl as a total enemy when he know she knows everything and work for the prince while also dating him ? How does he not realize that when she said "you'll be set free after our wedding" mean they're going to kill him since in the original story the duke die after being framed for treason right after the wedding.

Yeah so the whole "Tarkan's first love" plotline was totally pointless. I really hate that the resolution of "I love more than one person" be "it's fine they're the same person". It already irked me that they presented loving more than one person as wrong but the author couldn't even fully commit to Tarkan respecting and loving Rine enough to choose a fully monogamous relationship because that's what need to be happy.
Yes he does chose to discard his first love but he didn't actually needed to commit to that decision, he didn't have a discussion with Rine to declare he is choosing her and if a closed relationship is what she want then that's how it'll be. No. Turns out hey're the same person so everything is fine and the conflict resolve itself without the characters needing to make choices.
They also used this auto-resolve to spit on polyamorous relationships one last time because why not since Tarkan isn't "abnormally" loving two different people anymore.
I love this manhwa, seriously, but this side plot was trash and the resolution was unsatisfying and wasn't earned at all. Between the intolerant view on poly relationships and the non-resolution of the conflict it really was disappointing, glad it's over.

The problem I have with Riftan is that he does not love Maxi. He love the woman her father tried to force her to be. He love her appearance and love the idea of protecting a precious noble lady but he dislike everything that make her herself. He doesn't like how passionate she is about things because it make her reckless, he doesn't like her loving people because it make her want to help them, he doesn't like her kindness because it make her put other before her physical well-being, he doesn't like her need to feel useful, he doesn't like her discovering what she wants to do, he doesn't like her going out, he doesn't like her being social. He doesn't like her bravery. What even does he like about Maxi that isn't her body or the fake image her father built ?
Maxi take back her words about him doing the same thing as her father like he isn't but he is. He is trying to force her to be exactly the same person her father tried to force her to be : a weak, obedient, quiet woman that only go where they want and do what they allow. The only difference between the two so far is one was violent and cruel about it.
