My friend read the novel this comic is based off from and she told me that there isn’t any romance in it and considering it’s Chinese and we know how... strict China is... I also do want to say that Su Luxia is the first MC I find as relatable and can actually see myself in... and if I were to view her actions through my eyes, then the Taoist is her new toy to mess around with... not in a romantic way. Well, there are some Shoujo hetro smut mangas but they aren’t really... great. It’s pretty cheap and hovering in the realm of porno logic. But I suppose yaoi is the same as well, but if I have to chose between a whiny uke and some whiny chick, much rather look at a cute whiny boy tbh.
In general: Japanese shoujo is trash while Korean shoujo is god tier (usually) while Chinese shoujo is hit or miss. But to answer your question, I’m not too big of a fan of dark stories. I mean, I’m mature and I enjoy serious storylines. But the issue is that authors are so fucking dramatic and crank up the “edgy” factor to the max and its cringy af. All the melodrama makes me tired. It’s a never ending train of just fucked up shit happening and doesn’t give the audience a chance to breath. I do enjoy dark humor but again, authors have a hard time doing it
I think you will like hashi no XL saizu and, Romance and Jealousy. Both these manga have a unique story line but mind you they are kinda weird. Hashi no XL saizu has got some iconic lines. The uke is just naturally funny.. is all im gonna say..lmao. Its a ridiculous plot but really original. I liked it but it can be a little too weird for some. First, I want to come out and agree with the majority: Ginger is a dumbass. Let’s shake our hands on this.
But she isn’t the worst dumbass I’ve seen in comics. She’s they typical average dumbass FL you see in any manga in this godforsaken hellscape that we call “the internet”. She’s literally a dime a dozen. But the reason why people are flaming her too hard in particular (compared to other mangas) is because A) the situation is rather straightforward and a Ginger was literally given a map on how to traverse but she basically squanders it in favor of being “blinded by love” and not bothering to think one step ahead and B) I’m assuming that a lot of readers here have common sense and we’re all rather introverted individuals meaning we have a lot of practice being inside our own heads and fleshing out our thoughts. Combining this together we got an audience who are capable of critical thinking reading a character who lacks it.
Yes: because Ginger is a clinical dumbass that it makes her human and easy to understand. You don’t need to be a genius to figure out what she’s thinking. But Ginger simultaneously act like those frat girls you see in horror movies and the weird kid you knew at school that everyone was forced to avoid (or forced to hang out with cause your parents are friends with each other).
People defending her are missing the point about why the majority hates Ginger (and they probably didn’t realize these were the reasons or weren’t able to formulate it in this manner).
- Ginger is another straw to add onto our back of “stupid FL”. There’s a million of them. We’re plagued by them. Smart or Strong FL are rare, and I’m not counting the Mary Sue ones and definitely not the FL that are she-hulks (all brawn but not an inch of common sense).
- Ginger was given a handicap at the start of the story and immediately squandered it with bad decisions
- The way she fell in love is... mmm, not “unrealistic” but incriminating vain and superficial. I’m sure a lot of us know those sort of people who fall in “love” the same way but then immediately break up... love that shares the same expiration date as milk. It’s one thing if the author addresses these issues and point it out but we don’t have high hopes with lazy authors these days.
- Talking about lazy authors, this author is relying solely on Ginger’s incompetence to have any stakes or conflict in the story. Yes there’s her sister and that butler dude, but they could have been more than enough without Ginger’s stupidity. It’s a lot more rewarding and tense building knowing that the hero is going up against their equal or someone greater. But with Ginger? It’s like watching a bodybuilder beat up a disabled person (no offense to anyone). It’s not dramatic... just sad.
- the author is kind of... insulting the audience’s intelligence. In our modern world where technology is increasing everyday, our education is increasing as well to the point that we all have some level of critical thinking skills. We are a product of our times but our stories aren’t keeping up. Blah blah blah, Ginger doesn’t live in our time doesn’t excuse the author (who does live in our time!!!) not treating the audience with intellectual respect.
- Because we’re all more educated, we’re rightfully asking for more from our FLs. And no, not quite “OP”. If you think having some level of education or common sense is a super power, I’m sorry our authors failed you. I remembered seeing this stupid post defending a dumb FL going “I’m sorry I’m not cool, smart, strong, emotionally strong, or have any actual traits. But at least I’m kind!” Is that supposed to be impressive? Being nice is the bare fucking minimum and “nice” is subjective to begin with. What is this? Do we still live in the 1800’s where a woman is expected to be a mother and a nun at the same time? We’re allowed to ask for more.
- Ginger is simply the wrong character to try to relate to the audiences on this site. She’s the frat girl (again no offense) while audiences are the shy girls (seriously no offense just an equation). Vastly different worlds and Ginger has yet to show any real relatability to an a moderately educated audience with intuition. And don’t argue with “American audiences aren’t the targeted audience”. THATS EVEN WORST. HAVE YOU COMPARED KOREAN EDUCATION WITH AMERICAN???? They blow us out of the water!!!! If American audiences consider it laughable, what more Korean?

I’m an English major and I know fucking calculus. It’s seriously not that impressive. And remember, it’s Asian education and they’re advanced. I went to school overseas for a year and they were teaching trigonometry and pre-calculus to middle schools when we only start learning that in high school in America. Thanks to that one year, I blew out my peers when I returned to school and got an A in Calculus. And that’s just one year of foundation, what more an entire childhood and teenage years?

Look... first of all... this is just ONE ACR of a novel. And the comic from it makes no justice to the novel. It's name is Cannon fodder records of counterattacks. Just in case you want to check it out. But you should really read the novel.
Now... let's talk about the similarities and differences between them ok?
Cmmd and Cfrc are similar in 2 points only: they are quick transmigration (qt) and are not romance (usually qt romance has one guy they meet in every world that don't keep their memory but follows the mc around the many worlds and they end up together) that's it.
That's the only similarities. Now for the differences.
Su Luxia is obviously not a "normal person" from the start, it's clear even on the side story about her 1st mission. Ning Shu is a 27yo who died after spending most of her life in a hospital bed. So... she is not OP at all... if anything she is worse than normal people. No knowledge, no relationship experience, no high stats, nothing. So in the first words she has it real hard and this arc is a challenge arc so she can be considered a normal host instead os a fricking noobie.
NS's system is not helpful AT ALL as you've saw unlike SL's bamboo rat he does nothing for her and actually expected her to not even live enough to get over being a noobie. That's how weak she starts as. No system store, no help finding the targets location, no accompanying her through the worlds. She has almost no help from him at all in almost all the worlds she goes.
Cmmd is about a OP mc abusing scum and bettering that body's life. Cfrc is about a WEAK mc getting stronger TO SURVIVE and completing the body's wishes.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love cheating men must die. But in regards of character development and world building Cannon fodder wins. Maybe because it's a novel with more than 4k chapters and not only a comic.
The novel is way more slow paced than cmmd... and as I said, besides those 2 points (and getting revenge on others) they are not really similar.
