ABOUT THE SEME - I skimmed the Chinese raws for a summary. Saw all the comments calling him sus and wanted to provide some answers for those who want them:

.
.
.
.
.
TLDR: not sus imo? However take this with a grain of salt as I didn’t thoroughly read the raws and the Chinese raws were incomplete.

Seme does sleep with another guy (Blue) - but Blue is kind of the initiator. Seme much prefers the Uke. They were still sex friends at this point - Seme wasn’t cheating since they weren’t dating. I don’t think it’s such a big deal since 1. Not cheating 2. Serves as a plot point that drives them closer anyways.

Why did Seme approach him in the club? - Seme got dragged to the club by an acquaintance - needed some space from the group and wandered off. Was thinking about wanting to like someone when he saw the Uke who just got abandoned by his friend and was kinda sad. Thought he was cute, proceeded to enjoy spending more and more time with him as their relations progressed.

There is still some drama but nothing the seme did so far made me hate him. Just normal relationship drama, nothing despicable!

Cute spoiler: Uke moves in with Seme :)

Thank u sm for this? I really appreciate it. It kinda calmed me lol a lot of ppl in the comments are judging the seme. Anyway, whata u said was true, ghey weren't dating so i guess it was alright, no commitments and the uke was ok with it. This spoiler is just what i needed lol

Yeah that was my reaction too!!!! And then they’re like hush hush silently flirting and the brother is just watching them like

I was shocked that Seojun invited Taeho to stay with him... and THEN INVITES HIS BROTHER TOO - so sweet.

The Chinese Raws stopped at the scene in the restaurant with Taeho and Blue (I forget his name lol). Seojun swoops in and drags Taeho away - leaving Blue on the floor (who is piiiissssed). :) can’t wait to read everything in English though haha

Lmao Sadahiro Mika drew this. It makes sense if you like her yaois like Under Grand Hotel then you’ll like this probably. Because the style of angst/drama in the romance is exactly the same as her yaois.

Axk April 27, 2018 1:16 pm

I know all the comments say don’t read this, he’s an asshole but I actually really like this story. If you like really shoujo stories where it’s just two innocent kids falling in love, happily ever after, you’re not going to like this. But if you like more josei style slice of life angsty stories (with a happy ending) I think you might enjoy it too.

He’s definitely an asshole who uses her feelings for him and emotionally abused her basically, but he’s not irredeemable in my eyes. He’s not that perfect male lead who’s a gentle and kind and whatever but I don’t particularly like those kinds of characters anyways. I do like flawed characters, ones that are darker and have a hard time fighting with reality and so they’re consumed by delusions.

He’s a huge red flag, I can’t help but think that if he ever faced a hard struggle and turn to alcohol he would become abusive. He’s to emotionally unstable for my taste. I’m all for having flaw characters, but he doesn’t sit well with me.

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around that part and I just don’t feel like it’d Make sense for Walter to actually try to double suicide. If you look at UGH Walter’s character is very straightforward and he doesn’t seem like the type to do something crazy like that. It just wouldn’t make any sense for him to pull a double suicide which is like a “If I can’t hbe you no one can, but I can’t live without you” move and that doesn’t seem like him at all. He doesn’t seem to have the same kind of possessiveness that Sword had though he did care about Norman to a degree. I thought maybe he pulled that move as a way to let Norman move on without having to actually dump him, so his heart wouldn’t be broken like Sword did? But.... I don’t know the whole thing makes no sense. What would make more sense though is if Norman was the one who had poisoned the champagne and killed Walter, and that’s why he knew what was in it and that’s why it was his first failed attempt? Though over all I think the author left out a lot of details about that relationship that would’ve been nice. I think I’m not as into these sequels because I don’t particularly catenary for Norman? Like I feel bad for him to an extent but also... I don’t feel much attachment to his character. Plus Erie’s ending is just..... :////

I don't really care whether Haru is a "pedophile" but what's astounding is the fact that people are freaking out about it in this manga. There are literally hundreds of other yaois where there's incest, rape, pedophilia, necrophilia, and a bunch of other really disturbing things, but most people just accept it and move on. There's no reason to freak out over this manga. you can yell "pedophile" all you want but I still love this manga and hope Ren and Haru get together.

    Anonymous July 16, 2017 1:34 pm

A lot of people who read yaoi don't read shota... NOt everyone who reads yaoi likes the fetishes of SM or rape, etc. I think people have the right to dislike this manga or dislike pedofilia.

(Althought it's debatable... Ren and Haru don't have a big age hape, Ren looks younger than his age, it's consensual and they haven't had sex yet so...)

I think maybe because this is a popular manga and have more readers that don't really read as much yaoi in general. IMO, Haru hasn't exactly done anything much to Ren yet which is responsible of him compared to most other stories. (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

I think this manga brings up a lot of aspects of yaois you don't really see often. First you have the charismatic, "beloved" seme who isn't just a sadist he's a serial killer. and the uke who has a hard life making him the perfect target. Both of them are psychotic, including the uke who's kind of creepy when you look at it from a third person point of view. He broke into his crush's house and jerked off in his bed. The reason that works out so well though is that as the victim, the uke is already conditioned to rather be with the seme than escape, because he loves him.

The whole time I was reading it I was expecting some scene in the future where the police officer visits and the uke is like "oh yeah we're fine". It's kind of like stockholm syndrome except not even because he didn't need to be conditioned, he arrived already in love and alone.

So i think this is really interesting and I can't wait to read more! The only problem is that I'm worried about the ending. The way I see it, the author doesn't seem like the type to end this with some sort of cliche like they're happily together forever. Because if he's a serial killer he probably has some sort of psychopathic brain and you can't fix that. Therefore, a happy ending that seems plausible would be for the seme to continue killing but have the uke as his accomplice while they're dating. It could also end in tragedy where one of them dies. Well, I guess we'll have to see but I can't wait!

    naomi December 14, 2016 9:56 pm

If Sangwoo suddenly stops feeling the need to kill any more, that'd be so cliche. Changes are gradual, so if it's going down that route, I hope it's a loooong series. No, actually let it be long no matter what route.

I honestly wouldn't pull it past any manga artist to want to make their yaoi a happy ending or whatever. But in my opinion, it'd be very cliche and fake. He's portrayed as a psychopath and in any other form of media - like a movie or a TV show - they would never really be able to pull off this serial killer falling in love and stop killing because they're incapable of love. that's the definition of a psychopath - the inability to feel emotions. so he can't ever fall in love. He literally is not capable of doing so.

even if he did, it'd be because he just didn't want to be bored and he wanted the other person around. but it would never be like the "I want you to be happy even if I have to sacrifice myself" sort of love. It would be "I'm selfish and you fit some sort of spot in my life but if you suddenly stop fitting that role, then I don't need you anymore". At that point it wouldn't be love, it'd be like possession.

If you've ever watched criminal minds, a lot of the serial killers they capture are like Sangwoo - so I'm really curious to see what direction the author tries to take it.

I bought ch. 13 in korean today and you'd be surprised if you saw how much emotion Sangwoo is capable of having. To give a tv show example, Dexter was ready to be killed or arrested by his sister Deb bc he'd never hurt her. He'd sacrifice himself for his sister. Deb had to kill their police chief Laguerta to save Dexter. They both loved each other. Dexter fell in love with Hannah. Another example: Once upon a time tv show has Rumpelstiltskin - the villain who doesn't care one bit about human life. He changes after he meets Belle.

If I think about other examples, hmm, I just assume hitmans (e.g: John Wick, Deadpool, Leon) or ppl who are raised by mafia to become killing machines don't count as psychopaths. There are a lot of killer couples, but do they sacrifice? Maaan, finding an example is hard. Usually the psycho just kills you in thriller/horror movies such as All good things, P2, Taking Lives, Breathing Room... The way I see it, the psychopath killing you is cliche. That's the easy way out. The way I see it, a bad ending is cliche; it's a dime a dozen. Your usual yaoi manga always end happily, that's what is cliche.

Idk about the fake, though. It seems more realistic to say psychopaths can't stop killing. Like in A Clockwork Orange, a psychopath may just pretend to have changed.
How about a happy ending but he continues killing? :P Dexter was going in that direction but it didn't happen because writers didn't want it for some reason!? (╯°Д °)╯
That kinda ending is too immoral, I guess. So, the chance of a happy end is slim. But it'd be really rare and original if it was a happy end is all I'm saying. I can take a little fake. Yaoi manga aren't very realistic in the first place.

    in short:
    - you think HEA like every other yaoi manga is fake and cliche. --> which is true
    - I think a bad end like every other psychopath movie is cliche (romantic interest either kills you or manipulates you). --> which is also true but Killing stalking is not a movie.

So what was I arguing about for so long? You obviously win.
But if they make this a movie, I want a HEA, ok? I really wanna see a happy psycho movie couple for once.

Actually, I think Sangwoo showed more signs of being a sociopath than a psychopath. Psychopathe are speculated to have a genetic predisposition whereby their brains are not fully developed in the emotional nerve center. Sociopaths are catagorized more by having bad childhoods. Psychopaths are literally incapable of feeling empathy because of their brains. So they will not hesitate to kill you if serve no greater purpose in their plan. While sociopaths can feel empathy, but it's in very controlled doses of their choosing. So it is possible for a sociopath to be affectionate, even capable of a twisted version of love. Sociopaths suprisingly like having animals because they like the feeling of having something that depends on them and the power of superiority that comes with it. So long as the animal is completely obedient, the sociopath will love, cherish, and care for them just as much as any other adoring pet owner. But the moment they step too far out of line, that's when the kicking, punching, and abuse come in. And then when abuse is done, they'll go right back to being the loving owner, and that all these injuries they're patching up are just the result of the dog tripping or something, not the owner's fault. They are super possessive, so running away is a huge no-no, and if anyone touches their pet the wrong way, that's it. This logic applies to humans companions too. It is love, kinda if you squint, but there is a fair amount of manipulation in there too.

So now let's look at Sangwoo. It's clear that he doesn't really have any sort of agenda outside just randomly killing people, and that Yoon Bum was never supposed to be apart of his life. The only reason he initially keeps Yoon Bum alive is because Yoon Bum has demonstrated near absolute obedience. After Yoon Bum gets sick, Sangwoo learns he really really likes caring for weak, dependant beings. When he finds out they share the broken home backstory, he decides to keep Yoon Bum as his baby/wife/pet to shower love on. I guarantee you, the moment Sangwoo finds out what Yoon Bum's uncle did to him, Sangwoo is going to kill him, even if what he's done is way worse. Mistakes aren't a problem for making Sangwoo mad, but direct disobedience certainly is. And when it happens, they go right back to the basement. It all fits...

    I've learnt something new today.
    It all fits...damn.
Still, it's love. Even if it's twisted...
I like it more when it's twisted, tbh. Two psychologically broken ppl find what they're missing in each other. No matter what everyone says, that is romantic.

As someone who is a shoujo and yaoi fan, I have to say I don't like it when they mix the two. I'm not sure if the author was trying to showcase the variety of sexual orientations in the fashion world or if they were just trying to get more readers by attracting yaoi fans but I'm glad they didn't really go through with it. Because let's be honest, if this was a yaoi manga, those brothers would be in some incestuous relationship and gay for each other or others or whatever. Everyone in a yaoi is basically gay, which is fine because that's what I'm reading it for. But when I read shoujo, I just want the shoujo. They're both unrealistic realities that can't really exist at the same time. Because everyone's straight in a shoujo and everyone's gay in a yaoi. If it was any other manga that wasn't basically a romance shoujo - sports, seinen, whatever, I would be all for shipping yaoi ships. But this is one of the few times when I'd rather not. Idk, just my opinion on the stance of "yaoi" fanservice in shoujos

See it's kind of weird because if this was supposed to be a yaoi I would totally ship the brothers too! But because it was shoujo I was rooting for the girl. Or maybe I just always root for the main character and I dislike anybody who tries to interfere with the main characters relationship lol.

I haven't finished it yet. But I'd say it was pretty good. At fist I also had your thought. But well, I came here for a good story and a plot. Not for straights or gays. The author did a good job of showing different povs. I see character's growth, challenges, difficulties, emotional sentiments and characters. That's absolutely beautiful.

    Just my opinion tho.

Axk November 24, 2016 3:18 am

I stumbled across this manga because of another one of the author's works and I think it's okay. Nothing amazing or stunning. But it seems like it was the author's first comic so that makes sense.

Although I liked the idea, it was quite borng to be honest. I read up to chapter 40 I believe then really was not interested in reading more arcs since it was just... eh. I read the last few chapters and it was meh too.

The art style reminds me a lot of other korean webtoons but I think the one thing this comic was missing was a strong cast of characters. If you compare these characters to any other manga like One Piece or Naruto, the distinct difference is the characters from this story don't grab you. They just don't seem like real people, they seem like the author's pawns and do things that are convinient for the story line. There also isn't a distinct line of development and so the characters personalities seem to jump around a bit. Like if we talk about the strong, kind, handsome childhood friend - Ryun - he was so boring.

None of the characters even remotely touched me which is why I simply could not bring myself to care about the plot because okay, that characters dead or whatever, his death didn't really invoke any feelings for me.

Maybe it would've happened if I had read on for another 60 chapters but I couldn't force myself to.

I think it's similar to Black Haze, which is another korean webtoon that has a interesting idea. But Black Haze has better development and better characters over all.

So do I recommend reading this? Um. I mean you can try it. It's an easy enough read but I definitely won't ever be re-reading this. Though it's not bad enough for me to not recommend it. It's simply a story that has no impact so I can't really have an opinion!
