Do you remember that the magicians are the villains of this story and thus why Vinter hides his power because they're stigmatized? Yeah! For a reason! Cause the larger population of magicians are weirdos!
So when Yvonne got lost as a child, unfortunately and very sadly, she died and her body got possessed by Leila. Now, she went back to the ducal household, pretending to be the dead Yvonne to expand her reign by controlling these powerful men to do her bidding!
Going back to the game where MC played before she got transmigrated, if you actually and successfully accomplish the hard round (where you play as Penelope and not Yvonne), you'll get a hidden ending as a reward where it is revealed that Penelope all this time was just trying to stop Yvonne (as we know Yvonne is possessed by Leila) from her colonization mission and she was the sane and right all along and she's unrighteously labelled as the villain (Penelope can't be brainwashed because she had the power of a magician or something??
