anyone have a clue how long it takes for mangago to mark something as completed? there's been a lot of stories i've seen that have long been completed but are still marked as on-going so i"m curious
I honestly had the same question years ago too, so I had check my "already read" list rlq and and the furthest I could find that still says "ongoing" ended in 2022 so it probs isn't a function anymore
you need to email an admin to have the status changed now, it's generally the uploaders job to tell a mod when a story is completed. (from my understanding at least, I don't think mods really have the time to go through thousands of listings on their own to figure out what's ongoing and what's not)
as someone who's uploaded stories before from start to finish, the above comment is the only way that ik of aswell. I've emailed an admin to ask for a status change on a story and it usually takes a few hours if not a day before the status is updated.

Ive been trying to do the same thing. What ive been doing is just bookmarking what the chapter that has the picture, and then when I want to work on my albums just switch to desktop to save the pic to my album and then switching back to mobile version. Kinda tedious but its the only thing I found to work :*(
sometimes mine work when i switch from mobile vers. to desktop vers. altho my device is a phone tge look changes n I either zoom or rotate n read,,, it shpuld be in the drop-down menu after u tap om ur pfp
on desktop, you're able to click on a panel and it will automatically allow you to add on an album rather than first having to go to an album and then manually adding it there. it's more convenient.

why do uploaders not want others to upload over them? from what i know, they don't earn money outside of donations so i've always wondered why uploaders seem to fight over who should upload a series. some series are even reserved with notices before it's officially translated—but why? isn't it better if someone else is able to upload whenever an uploader can't do it as it takes the load off of them?

i read this on reddit like a looong time ago. basically, scanlators (non-MTL ones) spend a lot of time working on a series, so when someone suddenly uploads it too, it feels like their work is being taken over. its called sniping, afaik its like an etiquette on scanlations
the problem is that sniping doesnt guarantee faster or better updates. sometimes the new scanlator is inconsistent or low quality, and the original scanlator loses motivation to continue, so readers end up with no updates at all. if the original scanlator has abandoned the series, though, most people dont mind someone else picking it up
Well, if you are doing a task every week, but sometimes when you show up to do it there is someone else who already did it, the prep-work and the journey to the task is wasted. I'm guessing it can be pretty annoying to have everything set up and then not doing it and having to do it again every week just in case. Many uploaders even ask uploader Friends to take over their uploads if they know they won't be able to do it for a time.
They aren't getting paid, but that don't mean they don't commit
On the other side, I've been following a couple of series with multiple uploaders at the same time and it's also annoying on the reader's side(〜￣△￣)〜
