If Carla was married with Anna's dad, Franz would be her nephew. Morally, its wrong.
The problem here is that her daughter is RELATED to Franz. If they werent related, no issue.

The story's timeline is set in the medieval era, or closer. What's not considered acceptable today was completely normal for those back in the day. It's completely understandable to not accept the ship as a person of today but we can't apply the same social and cultural standards we have in the contemporary period, to eras such as this. Otherwise, it wouldn't be realistic at all (Which I assume what the author is going for lol)

In medieval times if u had a period - u r a woman, 20 is prime and after 30 - old lady, and fl mom is 40+. This kind of marriages, when woman was older one, where ok if she was some kind of a duchess, rich without younger female relatives, and even then, 20 years its to much
in that time, cousins were marrying but not aunt and nephew or uncle and niece.....
