In the novel he doesn't just lose an arm, he's hurt way worse, part of his body gone. And he doesn't say he'll try to get hurt as little as possible but the very opposite: as MUCH as possible, because he wants to make himself as harmless as he can for Yohan so he can't hurt him if he completely loses himself. He was trying to give Yohan a way to escape because he feared what he could do to him while in his most violent insane estate (from fighting the pseudosubway) （/TДT)/
This was sudden and... kinda pathetic and anticlimatic? A typical "follow to the transport and shout don't leave me"? They went for passionate and was underwhelming instead... I was hoping for Kim Dan getting a text reminding him what they said at the beach, that he'd support him no matter what. Or granny going through an emergency an him turning up to support Dan. Not this... Basic abuser manipulation tactic of crying while asking the abused not to leave them? That's more of a red flag in my eyes, he's putting his suffering on Kin Dan, like "if you leave me now my life will be over". Abusers do that...
Such a pity, I actually liked the way it was going, emotionally, in their development... With JJK realising how badly he treated him and trying to make ammends not asking for anything in return...

Btw, just a little trivia, Sisyphus in the original myth was a cruel, violent and underhanded (liar) king who cheated Death itself and came back after dying, so... Yeah, I think Guwon died and came back wrong. And Teah probably too, which is why Guwon sees him as similar. Teach didn't just get knocked out when hit in the head, he probably really died.
He has stabbed himself before. That's what Guwon saw in his hand. His body is strange and heals, I'm guessing. He has tried to kill Guwon while asleep before. He probably killed his dad, and Guwon feels he's loose in the head too, probably, they're a match made in Heaven.
So... No consequences for his actions? The mother is the monster because she didn't accept him killing the innocent? Sorry, can't really empathize with him... I only hope he improves because... The god in the story "learnt from his wife's love and repented"? And what did he do to atone for the lives lost in his war games? Being sorry isn't enough, an yet he got his wife and all. And Shuraka isn't even sorry. Nope. Sorry, people learn through consequences for their actions, not by being bailed out by others who love them just because (I understand pitying a kid, but what does he even see in this adult him? He's cute, but hasn't even treated him all that well, not really).

Il-Woo's father was probably the one BaekHee's father killed (which got him in jail). That's why he practises stabbing, he came planning to kill his father's murderer once he got out of jail and then take his own life afterwards. I'm thinking the narration by them may be a testimony in court or to the police. Because BaekHee's father will probably get out of jail soon or something and Il-Woo WILL stab him, but not for revenge but in order to save BaekHee from him. Il-Woo will go to jail for killing him but it won't be a long sentence it being declared self defense by BaekHee's testimony (which he is narrating and is this story). BaekHee will promise Il-Woo he'll wait for him to come out and make him promise not to do something stupid meanwhile, and when Il-Woo tells him that he can't make him wait X years BaekHee will answer that after ten years in fear for of his father's release, the wait for him to come out and them being together again will be a positive chance and in this case he'll be looking forward that moment. Then we'll have a timeskip and them reuniting when he's let go of, kissing happily ever after.

Oooohh, so this world's version of Orias sensei (Lucky Happy, the one who can tamper with luck and Lied had to win against in a game back when gathering signatures in canon, and the Casino's original owner our darlings said they admire and want back, see how his charasteristic symbol the star is in his clothes and all around?) isn't MIA, he's literally between padded walls!! Original was really elegant in day to day appearances while messy when they met him in his downtime in the teacher's dormitories so it fits (he himself said he needed the downtime because manipulating luck is exhausting). In this world I'm guessing he burnt out being the always lucky man in the always lucky Casino and he kinda lost his mind. He must be their secret, they probably hid him away and they're trying to think up something that will get him back on his shoes. But Orias' luck is clearly still working if it got Iruma to find him out of sheer luck.
I must say that this AU version being darker than the original does something for me, we seem to be getting into psychological disorders here (Clara had some of it as well, and Azz has an edgier turn in his loyalty here as well, just as examples)
Please may I have manga/manhwa recommendations? I'm looking for BL that are well written, serious, with drama but happy ending. Messed up stuff is welcome, I very much dig psychological and instrospective stories. I'm fine with Stockolm and similar as long as it's painted as what it is instead of fluffy romance. I like flawed characters if the author can get me to understand them (reasons are not excuses, but certainly make characters more interesting to me). I like characters even if they are bad persons as long as they're good to their partners and the story doesn't try to convince you of them not being bad people while showing them doing terrible things at the same time. To sum it up, I like complexity, pshychology, character driven stories with character development. Extra points if there's an interesting plot.
So... Yeah, I'm a bit picky. Recommendations anyone? Pretty please? I'm in one of those moods in which you find faults easily in stories and can't find good things to read (will thank you for any recommendation, tho, I'm just picky for myself, wouldn't judge any sugestiones as I often read all kinds of stories, current mood is giving me trouble is all)

It was fine, but you can tell their heart isn't fully on it yet. Something is still missing. Can't wait for the emotional blockade to fall and them sharing a real one. Now THAT one will be hot and sweet, I'd expect
Juheon, you are really tiring me out... Few things get on my nerves more than "I will treat you like shit and hurt you to push you away so you don't suffer (and won't tell you a thing)". Treating him him like that is probably hurting him more than whatever you try to protect him from and you deny him even the chance to choose which pain he'd rather go through. This case grates me more than others because he's doing what everyone keeps doing to Dohu: treating him like someone who doesn't feel pain. And Dohu deserves better. He deserves to be treated as a person, not like everyone in his life including his family treated him as. These years his health deteriorated to scary levels, so did Juheon's but at least his case is by choice and with knowledge of what's going on. Dohu is reaching a breaking point and I honestly want him to let it all finally out and cry, and Juheon to se and understand how much damage he's been doing.
When I met Henri for the first time I commented that he and his daughter were two peas in a pod, had the same vibe and probably the same taste in love... I CALLED IT!! She's so similar to Iruma!! And a human as well!! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧ (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
There were red flags all over him back then already. He liked her because she was broken and pretty. Predators go after her kind. He wanted someone he could tie and always have below himself. The signs were all there... His whole mindset is based on low self esteem, that's why he only got worse and worse. He saw himself in a bad place, he saw her in a worse one and that made him feel not so low. Afterwards he kept pushing her down so she'd depend on him, she was perfect because she was already isolated and alone. That's how that kind of people work. They push a little, see themselves get away, they push a little more... They can't control their circumstances so they look for someone they can control. It makes them feel important. Such low self esteem is actually sad, but never an excuse for someone to break someone else down in order to feel it less.
She has a month left to live. Just let her spend it the way she wants... What is it to everyone who interferes? In a month no one will have her anyway... She deserves to be able to make her own choice... Don't get me wrong, I like the duke, he's adorable, and if she had more time I would enjoy him romancing her but... There's literally no time for her to get over a love and fall for another, that's just impossible. Whoever loves her should value her happiness in her last little time left over anything else. And Shinpei is what makes her happy, full stop.

And then my brain piped in with... Iruma dissappearing... As in, like the previous demon king... Becoming king and going MIA as well one day... And he's a human so... He may last decades, but not centuries like demons do. So they'd think he's still alive a couple hundred years later as is nornal for demons and keep looking for him, but he'd be gone in another way already.

I actually... Don't dislike this guy as main lead? He's quite similar to her, in attitude and intelligence. He's close in age to her (middle ground between her original and current ages) while not being as childish as would be expected for someone his age, his mental age puts him in a better position than any other options I can think of. He's rude, but so is she, and he has potential for growth since he's still young. In the original timeline he was a jerk, but her cousin was too and a shift in his upbringing is already starting to make a difference. It's not unthinkable. They can jave an interesting dynamic.
You are not seeing the red flags. Their flashback wasn't cute. It was a red flag. You can see the signals that soon already. She started crying, he thought he was hurting her and should stop, AND YET HE KEPT GOING. He's always showed great potential for abuse. He holds his own desires about her wellbeing. Every time. And he kept doing in increasingly abusive ways. He'd push a little, saw she took it, and the pushed more. It's manual starting of a toxic dynamic.
And you can see the end of that slippery slope here in his current thoughts. He hurts her because he knows he'll face no consecuences. He hurts her to weaken her so she won't leave him. He hurts her because he likes her hurt and dependent on him. He likes her beaten down, and he did back then already. He liked her because she was hurt. He wanted her and took advantage of her being in the low.
He always have, and always will want her more than he loves her.
But I don't see it that way.
The whole flashback is about him holding his own desires above her wellbeing. Even in their first time there was the red flag of him not stopping after she started crying (we read him hating himself for it, but HE. STILL. KEEPS. DOING IT). I think that's actually the point. That even at his sweetest he was still greedy and selfish. He wanted her more than he loved her. Everyone says that they don't get how he could change so much... But there we have the seed of everything. She endured because she loved him, but it was still a red flag. She's naturally self-sacrificing... And he learnt that he could be as selfish as he wanted and she'd take it. And he ran with that.
