If I was her I’d have assassinated the emperor the second he started showing any favor to the second prince. Cause wtf this emperor has no sense of loyalty to anyone. Not his own wife whom he undermines at every turn (no wonder they don’t care about each other) to the point that all these grabs for power were likely fueled by the emperor’s indifference and her son’s incompetence. Not to his long time allies or other noble households because he’s constantly trying to weaken both Lombardi and his own wife’s house. And to what end? Purposely weakening his legitimate son’s maternal side even before the whole assassination in the forest occurred to make him a weak future king?
