I really like Mr Kwon as a character but I’m finding his clinginess to be a bit much. And I get it, Kanghyun wasn’t really great at the beginning (would I call him irredeemable? No) I just feel like if Mr Kwon respected her he’d give her space to figure things out with Kanghyun properly. I also think I’m uncomfortable bc our MC is constantly uncomfortable when Mr Kwon just inserts himself where he’s not wanted bc of jealousy or being overprotective— even kanghyun isn’t that petty. Like he’s weirdly pushy? Even when he can tell she’s unsure. It makes his words pretty inconsistent with his actions bc he wants her to think about it and there’s “no pressure” but at the same he won’t allow to express her own feelings in her own personal time just bc he doesn’t like the guy?? It doesn’t help that the MC is pretty passive with most things except confronting her shitty friend. Maybe I just need more time with this but idk each chapter is inching me closer to just dropping the whole thing

But who tf asked for the Official translations? I didn’t, did you? I went back and I compared the fan and the official translation and they’re pretty much the exact same except for different working choice (the meaning is the same). Arguably the typeface, formatting is slightly better in the fan translation IMO. So like when did a non issue become an issue— also it feels a little rude like you went ahead and basically said “your work isn’t good enough” and added stuff with a metaphorical sharpie without permission or talking with the scan group about if it was ok or not to do so. Isn’t that basically like sniping a project?
Anyway I didn’t see anyone complain about the fan translation once. Scan groups put in a lot of work to translate comics to the best of their abilities for all the broke folk out here who cannot sustain the price for the all content we consume. If it’s bc of LQ images (which aren’t super awful btw) might I remind homies that we don’t exactly source these super legally. You know where to find the HQ versions, go read there if it’s such a big issue
I was perusing through the comment section browsing through all the discourse and I found someone who mentioned CNC play (Consensual non consent). For those who don’t know what that is, it’s a kink/sexual with practice where two CONSENTING ADULTS, on PRE DISCUSSED AND AGREEED TERMS, simulate r*ape. Now got some of you who have absolutely no idea why anyone would ever do this other than for some sick fantasy would be hells confused. Isn’t r*pe wrong? The crime yes— CNC? No. And here’s why.
CNC is probably one of the most misunderstood kink practices in my knowledge. There’s a lot of misconceptions about who participates in it and why they do so I’d like to offer you all— who care enough to read some insight from some of my own research and conversations with people who participate within CNC. So I’ll start here:
Why is CNC different from regular ass assault?
Like every safe scene, CNC heavily relies on consent. Everything about the scene from start to finish is meticulously planned, scripted and co-ordinated. Here consent prior to the scene is extremely important, these people (those who practice safely and ethically) usually have some of the best understandings of consent that your regular joe out walking about town. Consent prior is extremely important because words like “no” “stop” or fighting are disregarded and instead specific physical safe words are used to slow, pause or completely end the scene. Now with every kink, there is an aspect of danger, so being safe and well informed is the priority. Now you know a little about how it works let’s talk about why it exists and who participates.
Why CNC?
I could sit here and say people like it bc it’s some sick fantasy. But that isn’t quite the truth. The reality is that there’s a lot of people who participate within it and some groups you might find surprising— which groups you may ask? SA/r*pe survivors. That sounds weird right? Why would anyone relive or simulate something traumatic. Well here’s some reasons, often times these people people participate within CNC as a form of therapy, doing this by their own terms takes away the power that their past or future abusers may have. It helps soften the emotional and physical bite of the trauma and might help future victims feel less afraid when it happens. On the other side of the spectrum we have people who participate because they like the total exchange of power, perhaps preferring a rougher more extreme version of TPE (total power exchange).
What can we take away from this?
CNC is built on consent, it’s the whole and only reason it can work safely. Consent between adults who are fully aware of what they plan to do. It’s okay if you don’t like CNC or don’t see the appeal, you don’t need to accept any kink but it’s also important to be well informed and make educated judgments on accurate information, often times (but not all the time) we admonish things we have very little or inaccurate understanding of. I hope someone learns something or whatever. I’ll try not to pull up again with another long ass essay but I do find the discourse here v interesting.

The MC is very one sidedly in love with the uke. The uke doesn’t owe the mc anything just because he likes the uke. Crushes don’t owe you romantic feelings because you do. Additionally there’s nothing that the Uke has said or done so far that has suggested he wants a romantic relationship with the MC other than sex.
Another point: the uke doesn’t know the seme at all other than his name, his vague relationship with his brother and their one night stand which might I add he barely remembers. They are both adults and they’re both making decisions for themselves. Just because they’re intended to end up together (maybe) doesn’t mean that it’s going to be sunshine and roses, mutual love and values and wow cute fluffy relationship 100% of the time.
Also a PSA: JUST BC PEOPLE HAVE PURELY SEXUAL RELATIONSHIPS DOESN’T MEAN THEY ARE DEGENERATE OR USE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE TOYS. PEOPLE HAVE FREEDOM TO USE THIER BODIES AS THEY PLEASE, FICTIONAL OR NOT. Having a lot of sex doesn’t make you loose, having a preference for a “body type“ doesn’t make you a whore either. Jesus Christ.

I’ve read up to chapter 15 and then skipped to the 19th chapter. Reading this I’ve just felt extremely uncomfortable with the 2nd ML, the black haired guy whatever he’s called. Usually in these manga I’d be laughing like haha he won’t let blondie win but something about the art and the writing just makes him come across like a predator— he has no boundaries, he’s vindictive, he’s rough with a shitty personality and I feel like if I was the main character I’d be like actually terrified of him.
Now y’all are probably thinking I’m overreacting and there’s far worse with out there with sexual assault, rape, casual abuse etc etc (And it’s much worse with those stories) But the entire time I was reading this I was constantly on the verge of having a panic attack thinking Jesus Christ he’s so fucking creepy I’d probably have a mental break down and call the cops.
The main character isn’t a whole lot better either, there are situations where I feel like what happened and his reaction where way off idk.
This is just my post panic rant, I’m probably the only reacting this badly to a silly manga but oh well
I totally get it. How he monitors his phone and every move is beyond creepy. And mc should’ve just continued his business out of school hours, since they are not entitled to explain what they are doing outside of their school. Tbh there were so many solutions that mc just ignored and it makes me feel bitter. He behaves like a fool. He could’ve gotten into contact with a student from the group chat whose house is closest to his and let him/her take photos of the homework and share it olin the group chat. Mc should’ve put a line on what ml can do honestly, he thinks he can do anything at this point I believe.

The female lead isn’t necessarily lacking, or annoying intentionally, she has a mindset of someone with a lot of trauma. People who have those kinds of insecurities of fears related to trauma of some kind will usually jump to the worst case scenario or say or do whatever they think will make their partner or loved ones stay. I know this both from my own experience and people close to me, so it makes total sense to me why she’d act like this. Neither the FL or ML are perfect. For example the ML is crap at giving information when it’s necessary and he only starts talking after they fight baldy or so on. They are both flawed characters in their own way, they’ve only just begun to try mend their relationship fully, and there’s a lot of things happening around them
Like this is reallly cute and soft but depending on how they handle the Kenyan boy will make or break this for me—-L
