Tbh I can still maintain my weight of 45kg despite living like a sloth, so it is mostly genetic and what you eat (I eat normal meals but don't over eat).
while genetics and good metabolism play a good role, lifestyle plays even bigger. and the result of that usually is being skinny fat. there's literally no way you don't gain even a bit of fat even with balanced meals if you don't include some kind of exercise or moving (this got serious sorry but it's something that's rlly piquing my interest )
Well, I won't account for when I was much much younger when I was even skinnier, but I've maintained the same weight and body type for at least over a decade in the same life style. And that's because humans will still burn calories whether you do anything or not, just being alive burns around 80% of the daily calories you intake. You're not gaining fat just by living a low-active lifestyle, (though you can lose muscle mass to atrophy from not moving at all). But in that case, just doing sit ups is good enough lol. You can end up storing more fat by eating certain types of food that are hard to digest or breakdown in the body. Because the reality is, most of the things you eat otherwise just go in the toilet.
