Can someone bring me up to speed with this story? I last read it back when it had its long hiatus. I can see that Jooin is still doing his usual bullshit with yahwi despite many chapters of him being pissed and him having his emotional smack down with Yahwi. Which seems like it was unsuccessful and fell apart somewhere
Oh my god that's so him. I completely agree with you here. Leaving a guy you harassed/bullied and sexually assaulted for 6 years is not a "charitable" or "loving" act. You don't rape or assault someone you love, especially deliberately. I think the excuse of "i love him so much but I must leave him :'(" is lazy storytelling because it does nothing but make you roll your eyes and pity his character. Mfer should've just left permanently out of guilt alone, or idk apologized immediately(either of which would've actually been character development!!!)instead of waiting a 6 years just to kiss Jooin's boots and slither his way back into Jooins life. Anyway I'm rambling.
This chapter felt like a "readers, I support trans people :'( and trans people? *PLEASE* don't kill yourself :'(((" while also creating the idea that whether a transwoman is pre or post op is important(it isnt). Fuck "it's realistic" it's just fucking bizarre imo. Woohoo trans rep in a manhwa but also the way they addressed it was completely unnecessary. Sincerely, a trans person
The manga DID say that pre and post-op isn’t important — the guys looking at the two ignorant dudes were thinking this was all pointless and the blonde guy that slept with her said it didn’t matter to him.
Also personally I like this manhwa’s approach where it’s honest about how even friendly well-meaning dudes can say some pretty ignorant stuff, rather than having a whole cast of socially aware guys. Storytelling-wise the topic it talks about isn’t any different from all the other issues the manhwa talks about, like the girl that liked pegging or the dad who is doing sex work for his daughter.
I understand that but I think you're missing the point. It was unnecessary how it was portrayed. It would've been more interesting if it was used as a more active learning moment if the characters thinking "this is ridiculous and pointless" were more up and open about it, confrontational even. Rolling your eyes and not explaining to them why they're being weird and ignorant about trans people is not honest. It's passive storytelling. And assuming that your audience understands what is being talked about and understands fully why what they said was ignorant and stupid would be better then- "Oh well it didn't matter to the guy she had sex with and they were both wrong in trying to clock trans people just by looking at them. So clearly stereotypes are the wrong way to go". The whole point was that it was unnecessary to have these characters just be like "oh the boys are being boys again" and proceed to resolve it with the framing that it had just felt awkward and out of place to me. I appreciate the representation! I really do, but the author could've done better.
I appreciate the response and push back though
1 mean, I think it’s a pretty good way of storytelling seeing as it’s show don’t tell. Personally, I like it better when an author doesn’t tell you in explicit words that “That wasn’t very cool guys because…” Instead it showed the audience the reality of what trans ppl hear day to day about themselves and proved how wrong it was. Ofc to each their own tho, this is just my take on it !!

Every upload is like a dick measuring contest between these fucking scan teams good god
ikr I don't even know who's the better one i always just click randomly lol
Be careful cause Ch 31 Kaizen is missing pages (the picture of the tiger god should be in that chapter closer to the end for instance). It's not immediately obvious it's missing either like it connects seamlessly. I've just been sticking to desire scans
oh thank you for that, I'm checking it
No problem! Good to double check them.
Desire scans dropped the ball in the newest chapter this time because they had "oh incubator" when MC's nose bleeds instead of "huh?" LMAO so it's good to check. At least that error stands out though. The ch 31 missing panels is literally not noticable at all since it's all internal thoughts by Taejun
In Kaoru's upload we trust. With that being said, if you do want to read ahead with these ai slop groups, I find myth toons more reliable. I believe for some of their translations do have human translator working on them.
If there's any ai slop groups I would advice against would be desire. They just ran the chapter through ai/machine translator without even doing the grammar check, hence shit tons of bad translations that don't make sense. Not only that they've been stealing official rips chapters from mangago's uploaders to lock behind paywall. They also do that to a human fans translations! Absolutely scummy!
If I were to recommend these ai slop groups, based on my experience with them. At least Kaizen attempts to have some grammar check even though they do a sloppy job with it. Myth toons seems to be better. I've heard they do have humans working on some of their chapters. So even if they do run them through ai, they have humans clean up the grammar.
Honestly, I couldn't remember which ones people said were AI slop. I think I've seen comments all over the place on which one it was. Thought that all three were maybe doing it atp since they all uploaded at basically the same time.
I'll tend to check through two of the same chapter a lot of the time because I've seen every group here have some sort of weird English or missing panels.
Didn't know desire scans were stealing from uploaders. That's trash.
I really do recommend following official uploaders and humans translation groups on mangago, so you know from whom you can get a good translations from.
AI scam groups that I remember from a top of my head are: paradise, desire, kaizen, myth, lua comics, violet, nyx and so much more. There's a bazillions of them that use AI/machine translations and lock chapters behind paywall!
I've learned that if they advertise at the end of chapter ''read on our website for faster releases'', they are dead ass an AI scam group by 99,9%. Not only that, weird wording, incoherent sentence structure, the English language reads oddly are also another giveaway. While human&official translations can make mistakes because translation is hard. But generally the English language grammar still makes sense. Unlike with AI that's making me scratch my head.
