He just gave hard conditions because he disliked the nobles meddling with his affairs. But he never treats Leana cruelly, he just treated her as if she is a business partner. Take note: they we're wed out of duty, not out of love. So it's natural for him to act indifferently, while it's also a jerk move for him to neglect her, he is still the emperor, a ruler and a workaholic one at that. He was just focusing on his duty to protect his kingdom.

Frankly... alot of us western readers don't really relate to eastern sensibilities as far as romance goes. As far as I see it, most story relationships revolve around honor and consequently the "eye for an eye" concept. i.e. ...we prob won't understand the final choice.
Honestly I think the first guy is still the worst choice only because the author gave him some BS redemption quality.... when he was still crap to her after her transmigration. In most Mangas I've read, the mc gets saved right in the nick of time, and it becomes a clicheic damsel in distress scene... Yes, it's horrible that the ML wasn't in time in this manga, but it's more realistic and I'm waiting to see how everything pans out.
In the "say I love you" manga (which is the story of Nagi's older brother and his gf/wife) wasn't Nagi very passionate about crafting/cooking? She seemed to be so interested in learning more and developing her skills, that I thought she'll keep the hobbies into adulthood
