Genuinely until now I still don't understand the purpose of the egg, I kinda understood but no really but the ending was not as painful as I thought it would be since I've long accepted it
i didn't even realize the guy at the end of the chapter wasn't shizuka but his great grandson until i read the comments wtfffffff i'm literally crying rn i hate this. like he loved watanuki so much i'm so upset
it just feels like a missed opportunity... in the end there is no one to truly understand watanuki anymore bc everyone around him eventually passed away. his personality changed so much after he took over the store and i feel empty :((

fuck the ending this is how i imagined it in my delulu brain because clamp never finished so ill make the rest up in my head as the reader.
watanuki finally gets his head out of his ass and remembers what he learned after the grudge from the spider episode and realises that his eye is half of domeki's he comes to the revelation that he and domeki belong together and he walks out of the house surprises everyone he is out AND PROUD that he steals domeki from the alter where the wedding ceremony is happening and declares his undying love for his one true soulmate domeki. domeki calls him and idiot and says what took him so long and they leave Tsu at the alter and she aint even madd cuz she knew they belonged together. time skip its been a few weeks and both domeki and watanuki are sitting in the backyard patio sipping tea and eating cookies admiring the weather together as watanuki rest his head on domeki's shoulder both wishing nothing more then to be together forever. also domeki is never gonna age like watanuki because they never leave the sex hut unless for food at the supermarket.
