the “hets r gross” and “straight people should die” are coping mechanisms. most people use these jokes to cope with homophobia and discrimination. 99% of the time, the people who make these jokes don’t mean it.

Uh yaoi is a sub-genre of shojo. It’s always been written for women, primarily by women.
So long story short, yaoi was meant for straight women to enjoy.

Yaoi is meant to be enjoyable and these "straight females" enjoy it so don't try to make it problematic because most people don't think the same way you do, even LGBT people, because just because your LGBT doesn't mean that you all think the same, have the same options or past. Yaoi was never meant to depict lgbt relationships in an accurate way. It’s porn with a storyline. I think most people understand the difference between reality and fiction.
