It's just currently full of really gross or twisted stories of MLM couples, and a lot of fans don't see any problem with it. Even more moderate yaoi (those without the incredibly reoccurring sexual assault themes) use harmful stereotypes towards MLM. the key is to keep the shipping away from where celebrities can see it. do not message the celebrities on social media about it, or do it in places they might check, such as instagram comments on their posts. on the other hand, keeping it private in dms with your friends, or fanfiction sites where you can make stories only available to existing use...... reply
i do ship irl people, i cant really help it. but i keep it to myself unlike those who literally ask them if they're in a relationship with the other person they ship them with. in my opinion, its fine, as long as youre not problematic and make them uncomfortable. reply
Tbh I never shipped irl ppl, being it ppl I know personally or celebrities/idols. I find it kinda weird. Once I found myself at a celeb interview and when everyone started screaming to them to kiss each other, I felt really uncomfortable. reply
