Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, whether you think they are right or not, whether you agree with it or not. If you can't handle their opinions then don't stress yourself and leave them be. I am a very open person so I wouldn't stop being friends with someone just because we share different views especially if the person hasn't wronged me ...... reply
Honestly i think it would only stand as problem if the other person is a jackass and forces their beliefs on you or they HATE a lot and you don’t like that. If there is room where u can just leave it be then i don’t think it stands as a problem reply
If they're bigots, drop them. Otherwise there is no problem being friend's with people who have different beliefs. It would be ignorant to outright dismiss someone for having different views to your own. It's the ignorant bigots who act that way, no reason to do the same. Totally. If they are a good friend and fun to hang out with. I live in an area where most of the people have different political views than me, and a lot of my friends also have different political views than me.
If they're the kind of person who would cut you off or be rude to you, no matter how good of a friend you two are, solely because of you...... reply
It honestly depends on the topic. I can't accept racism, sexism, or general jackassery, but, if it is a topic with potential for compromise, I'm okay, usually. It gets a little more complicated than that, but I rarely shut down a conversation/potential friendship just because of opposing views. reply
Well, there is a difference between being a person who's open for debate and can respect your opposing ideologies and being a complete jackass who goes around insulting you for not agreeing with their opinions.
If you're the former then yeah I can fuck with you, but if you're the latter then lol absolutely not.

i’m curious bc i know this person who has completely different views than i do and they recently posted about how different political views doesn’t mean mean we still can’t be friends but their views in general (not just political but also on issues like racism etc.) are way too different to mine. i just wanted to know if it’s bad to drop friendships/relationships based on different views since i know everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and such
